I just dont feel good after babies..

Has anyone just not felt well after giving birth to their kids?! I had my first on 2/23/11...after he was born I just really started not feeling well, reflux issues, panic attacks, random pains...a few months later I got pregnant again (not 100% planned) and throughout pregnancy I again felt great....had the baby on 3/18/12. but now I just dont feel good again...went to the ER twice for what they told me are panic attacks...but I am just not satisfied. i have the xanax to help...but in addition am still experiencing random pains...pain in my jaw, under my ribs, my leg...etc etc...dizzy....could all this be anxiety, after pregnancy hormones? or what is going on?!?!

i went to my PCP yesterday and she said I seem healthy and is doing a bunch of blood work. get results next week. i am also toying with the idea of going to a cardio tuesday just for piece of mind. i just want to feel like myself again! anyone feel this way after kids/?! help!

My hyperemesis kicked in again after having my son, my blood sugar was everywhere (got diagnosed w/ gestational diabetes at 15 weeks) and postpartum depression kicked in shortly after he was born. Luckily, with this baby my hyperemesis didnt return, but Im already having issues with my blood sugar again starting shortly after I got my positive pregnancy test. Hope you all get to feeling better!

Aww poor you, anxiety is horrible to deal with and I'm really dreading it coming to me for the third time when this baby arrives...I'm just hoping that as I've had to learn to deal with it after each of my other 2 that I wont be so bad as before. Dont know if it will help you, but when I felt really ill with the palpitations etc I would keep telling myself that if I was going to die, I'd best enjoy the time I had left, I could then distract myself with having some fun with the kids and before I knew it I would feel better. I also would have myself a large glass of wine on an evening, which made me relax before bed, I eventually only suffered when I was tired and stressed and in the end it went away completely. Make time for yourself to relax, do whatever it takes, I've been there too and probably will be again in a couple of months...hopefully I remember my own advice!! The main thing is to try your best not to let it get you down and remember that it wont last forever. Good luck to you x

as a follow up...i went to my GP, went to caridologist, went to ENT...etc etc..everything under the sun. everything checked out 100^ fine. which leads me to believe it is anxiety...which seems so crazy but.......it is what it is!

i had panic attacks after my 1st child and i was also quite ill for 3 weeks after aswell. on my 2nd tho i just lost my appetite for the 1st month. i also suffered palpitations in both pregnancies and had to see a heart specialist. i only suffered panic attacks for about a week after having my daughter but they dont no whether it was from having her or cause i was in a car crash just after having her.

Check of chiropractic too. My pelvis and ribs were all out of whack and I was feeling like I couldn't breath and had indegestion. Chiro hooked me up and I felt much better.

Go back on prenatal vitamins, especially be sure you're getting the right amount of potassium and magnesium.  Being low on those can give you heartbeat irregularities.

I got like that after I had my daughter and I got the same diagnosis... Panic attacks. I get frequent heart palpatations and it worries me. I've had them since before I got pregnant from this pregnancy (now 35 weeks). I continue to have them and my doctor thinks it's normal. About a month after I had my daughter (Oct. 2010) they sent me to do some tests on my heart and everything turned out normal. They refused to do the 24-hour heart monitoring (forgot what it's called) so I went to Tijuana since it's close by and they also said there was nothing wrong. They also said it was panic attacks. I never had these until after I had my daughter. I would get shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, heart palps., and many other symptoms. When it all started I was in the ER almost everyday. They gave me medication and I would sleep all day. It was terrible. Luckily I was able to accept it and now when I feel a panic attack coming on I just ignore it and it goes away.
