I need some tips ladies!

Hey all Julian is 4 months old now and about 2 weeks ago was diagnosed with GERD and a milk protien allergy! I know that there is a Pediatric GERD forum but there is not any traffic! He is on Prevacid ( Zantac did not help him atall) 3x day and he seems to be feeling better on it. He is alos on Carafate 4x a day to coat his Esophagus because it was damaged badly! What are if any side effects of him taking these meds and could there be any long term problems???? Any one have any tricks that worked for you to help with the spitting up???

Also Julian was not eating on Saturday and I took him to the Ped and she said he had a lot of fluid built up in his ear and that he had a double ear infection. She perscribed him amoxicillan(sp) for 10 days 2x a day! I guess my question is there any way to help prevent them other than putting a hat on him since the weather is cool here?

He is unable to get his shots on time due to the ear infection that should not cause any problems right???

my little cousin had the same thing and was on one med 4 times a day and the other one 2 times a day.  the doctor also suggested a small amount of cereal or oatmela depending on whether the baby is pooping ok or constipated because the thincker the forumla, the more ability they have to hold it down.  you can look up GERD and acid reflux in infants and many of them talk about a very small amoutn of cereal.

The chart is Julians birthday chart..... I am not officially pregnant agian! I took a pink dye test and it was negative but the blue dye say I am !!!! I dont know what to believe!

If you are a couple of weeks late on the shots, it shouldn't matter much.  Once he is finished with his antibiotics, you can get the shots then.

BTW - - - Are you officially pregnant again or is the chart your old one??  I don't know if I missed some posts...
