I work at a Vet Clinic... what are risks that I should be avoiding

I currently work for a Veterinarian which is more large animal then small. So i am around vaccine both cat, dog, cow, calf, bull etc I am avoiding contact with them. I'm still early and the individual I work for really likes to talk/gossip... what do i do? I would rather tell them and have everyone and their dog know, then risk the health and safety of the baby. Just need some answers ... thank you

Thank you, this really helped:) I was at a cross roads. Its pretty busy here and i quite often am on my own, I do alot of heavy lifting but I'll watch out for that. And same with cats. Luckily I don't have to be around them as much

I had to tell my boss and he's a huge gossip too. I'm 6 weeks and work graveyard at Petsmart pet hotel. Lots of heavy lifting and over 100 dogs to handle alone. I had to tell him because I can't do my job and needed to switch to a different shift, I'd just tell your boss but ask them to be discreet. It's not their business to tell

I too am a vet tech. I watched my lifting.
Stayed away from radiology
Gloves and mask when handling cat feces
Was on high alert for jumping dogs/animals making sure I wasn't kicked or head butted.
Pretty much wore gloves for everything....blood,cleaning,etc
Washed my hands CONSTANTLY with surgical scrub and tried to keep my hands away from my face.

Unfortunately I had to stop working due to a very fast pace environment and they couldn't accommodate me with lighter duties or quick breaks for eating as I got further along and I had a hard time "taking it easy" when I was so used to going all in full force around the practice and facilities..... I am currently laid off until after baby is born.
