If you lose your plug all atone does that mean labor will start soon?

Sorry for the long title, but that about sums it up. I had increased discharge thought that was the plug, but then tonight had a very large glob come out all at once after contractions off and on all day.

Does this mean labor will start soon and is it still safe to have sex?

You can loose your plug up to two weeks before labour starts

with my first daughter i lost my plug all at once and went into active labor 24 hrs later

I went into preterm labor around 27-28 weeks and then lost large amounts of my plug over the month and a half that followed.  If I was having more contractions on a given day I generally lost larger amounts of my plus.  I didn't actually have my "bloody show" until I was in active labor at 38 weeks though.  Once I was full term my OB told me sex was safe unless my membranes were ruptured.
