I'm a man. Test results:

***************************************Now that I have your attention! Okay, so I'm not really a man. But my test results are HIGH TESTOSTERONE. Everything else (thyroid, LH, prolactin, etc.) were normal. But I have a level of 116 testosterone and it is supposed to be below 76.

My doc's verdict is still inconclusive. I have to get a sonogram to see if my ovaries look "PCOS"-ish and check my insulin levels (from my ovaries). I have to do a fast and get a THREE-HOUR glucose test. I was going to do that today but it's DH's birthday and I am just going to schedule it in for next week.

I am relieved that it isn't my thyroid. And if it is PCOS, she's going to give me Metraformin or whatever it is called. Because my LH and other levels are normal, that is why she isn't calling this PCOS until the sonogram results.

Confusing, I know. I'm still a little confused myself. But it explains a LOT---irrational anger, hair growth, etc. Yikes! If it is NOT PCOS she is referring me to an endocronologist to figure out what it could be.

Oh, and I don't have like dark facial hair! I mean everyone has facial hair but mine just seemed to be more noticeable lately? Still pale blonde hair, but more of it, I guess? Hard to explain but embarassing nonetheless! I just can't wait to get all of this figured out and move on.

Thanks, tarajanes! You always give me such an uplifting report. My doc did do a pelvic exam 2 weeks ago when we drew the blood and said everything felt and looked normal but she still wants to do an ultrasound. I feel like I'm going to break the bank but at least we are figuring everything out.

I feel as though my body is SLOWLY regulating itself. I've actually been able to lose weight. You see when I was excerising and eating right, I lost like 2 lbs. When I said, "To heck with it!" I lost 10 lbs (just in the past month). Plus I saw CM yesterday (haven't seen in a year) and my periods are regulating and are lasting 10 days instead of 14+.

So I definitely things are regulating on their own. It has been 2 weeks since the blood draw so it is very possible that it is "fixing itself". I told my doc all this and she thought it was promising.

Don't be embarassed.....Nothing you can do about it!  I know that they can give testosterone if you're low...Is there anything to reduce it, or counteract the effects of it?  I wonder if it's a fluke and maybe something is just going on currently that has increased it and it will reverse itself......I wish I knew more about it...Just throwing out questions.....

Well, I did walk in and say, "Daniel, I'm a man." He gave me the funniest look I think I've ever seen. I'm really very embarassed (I really don't know why---but heck, my emotions are all over the place!).

My doctor did tell me that if we don't get this taken care of I probably won't have more kids, or it'd be REALLY hard (like having to do some artifical and IVF or something). I will be satisfied with my two girls but I still want the OPTION of being able to conceive. So we're definitely going to figure it all out.

Thanks for your supports! Ha, Mr. Joy. I might use that one. I'm blogging about it right now!

Wow...Glad you're finally figuring it all out though. It's good you went and had it all checked. Same thing was wrong with one of my friends and having high testosterone just made her not conceive as fast as she would have liked to. But it happened!! Goodluck girl!! Keep us updated!

You're too funny!  My frined from work has PCOS and was given metformin and it worked...She has a little 8 month old fellow now......I had to do the 3 hour fasting glucose test when I was pregnant and let me tell you...CHOW DOWN the night before!  LOL.  I was so weak by the time the last draw came around that I stuffed Kit-Kats (it was around Halloween) in my pockets, went and had my blood drawn and was stuffing them in my mouth as fast as I could on the way out of the hospital!  Glad to hear that your thyroid is OK.....that can be a pain to regulate!  Lots of luck Mr. Joy!  HAHA!
