Heartburn

My heartburn is so bad. I only eat like one meal a day and its still bad!! And I eat around 6 and don't go to bed till 10 or 11 at night so I would think it would be broken down by now! Ugh I hate milk. And tums don't work I wish water did. I drink it all day but it just makes the feeling worse! I always feel like ima bout to throw up and a burning sensation. I just wish I could throw the food up and not have the heart burn for the rest of the night!! Heartburn sucksass!  Sorry vent about fu.kin heartburn lol that's sad.

I was told tums are fine but not to over do it. There are recommendations for pregnant women on the package. Not to scare any of you ladies but it can cause strokes and stuff for baby if you overdose on tums. But very rare I was told.

I suggest talking to your Doctor. I am currently 26 week and my Doctor perscribed me Zantac which you can get over the counter. I have had heartburn bad for years so mine isn't due to just pregnancy. Now my Dr said Tums were good to take expecially because of the calcium. Every Doctor is different so that is why I suggest talking with your Doctor first. I hope you get relief soon!

Tums are not recommended during pregnancy anyway, so if they don't work, forget taking them.  My sister took papaya tablets, but those did nothing for my heartburn when pregnant.  Someone on the site wrote about peppermint tea being a godsend.  Why not try it, it certainly can't hurt!!!

Also try sleeping in a more sitting-up position.  Heartburn in pregnancy comes from the stomach being pushed up out of its normal position by the uterus, and keeping the stomach acids down is helped by sleeping propped up a bit.

I'm only 21 weeks and have been having heartburn everyday pretty much. I take tums and that doesn't work and I'm allergic to milk so I try not to drink too much of it. I have 19 weeks left of hesrtburn :( hopefully it lightens up some soon!!

I'm the same way! I hate it!! I get it almost every night its so bad and about half the time it does make me vomit up everything! Although it feels so much better afterwards. Tums don't work anyway and I'm lactose intolerant so milk is not happening! I just wanna have this little girl already!
