Just got back from L&D

Well, I posted earlier that I had my 36w exam today and that I started spotting after I got home.   Well, the spotting turned into bright red really heavy bleeding.  My doc sent me up to l&d to get checked out.  At my appt, I wasn't dialated,  but when I got to the hospital they said I am at a 1 1/2.  They said since the blood seemed really watery, they thought that I was having a trickle break, but that test came back negative.  The bleeding finally stopped after about 4hrs, so they had me get up and walk around for 1/2 hour.  They said if the bleeding continued, they would probably just induce me, but luckily it stopped and they sent me home.  I am still cramping a lot, but they think that a blood vessel on my cervix may have ruptured and that is what caused the bleeding.  I have to take the next 24hrs off to make sure that the bleeding doesn't start again and that the cramping goes away!!  Now I just feel Yucky!!!

Precious03...

Glad to hear everything is fine and that the baby isnt in any kind of distress.  All of the June Mommies who's at least made it to 36 1/2wks just need to start their jumping jacks and their walking to get this thing started.  I'm tired of all of us having to visit L&D every other week! :)  Lets just make it easier for everyone on the boards and they can say congrats to us all at the same time!!!

Wow! Me and you are due a day apart I think and I was in labor/delivery this weekend. I found out I'm dialted to 2cm, but sent home because the contractions aren't strong enough to progress this thing along. They'd really like to see me hold onto this baby until next Monday atleast.......Now I guess it's just a waiting game for the both of us. Glad you are doing well...

my friend went from a 2 to an 9 in half an hour..they discharged her from the hospital because she was there for 2 hours and hadnt dialated anymore, they left to go have breakfast after she got discharged and went back to the hospital half hour later because she started contracting closer together at the restauraunt, she got into her room, her water broke and had the baby  ten minutes later!!! so be very careful and keep an eye on how you are feeling! you will know!

Definitely possibly a vessel burst! Yikes!!! I hope the next 24 hours goes well. I've heard those amniotic fluid tests aren't accurate. Make sure you count movements more than anything!

I was pretty shocked about that myself.  They asked me what the doctor had said at my appointment, and I said that he told me I was not dialated or effaced, but then they checked me and said I was 1 1/2.  The doctor confirmed it when he came up there to do the test to see if I was leaking amniotic fluid.

I am glad to hear that everything is okay. So you went to the doctor today and he said you were not dialiated but when you got to the hospital you were? Well at least you are 36 weeks so if you do go into labor at least all will be well. Keep us posted and I hope you feel better.
