Immunizations

What do you think of vaccinating your baby?? I don't need any negative comments just opinions on pros and con's about vaccinating. My sister didn't vaccinate her child, he's two now & has never been sick in his life. I've seen multiple children who have been vaccinated & they continuously get sick & seem a little clouded. I mean i think its a little ridiculous that they give the hepatitis B vaccine as soon as the baby comes out, why would my child even be exposed to a secually transmitted disease. I've also heard of cases of children either dieing from vaccinations or becoming autistic. Not sure how accurate the autisim claim is but just something I heard. Also I've read that pediatricians don't study immunizations very thoroughly in medical school. I really don't want to vaccinate but I was just curious on how many people do and how many people don't vaccinate & they're logic behind this.

I appreciate all the responses, its nothing to do with being irresponsible, each person has their own logic behind vaccinating or not vaccinating. If I don't want to vaccinate my child it's because I've done enough research to believe that its the best decision for my childs health to not be vaccinated. To the person that said vaccinations keep diseases from being spread, you contradicted yourself by saying that vaccinations aren't 100% at keeping diseases away. So either way diseases can be spread whether people are vaccinated or not. So I'm confused at how it's irresponsible not to vaccinate when people with vaccinations can be the ones spreading diseases..... Anyways Did you know that almost half the vaccinations given to infants are to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. Not sure why my child needs to be vaccinated against sexually transmitted diseases. I've heard so many horror stories about children being vaccinated, also babies cannot start to build up an immune system until they are a year old, that's why breast feeding is so important, to help the baby fight off infections with the mothers antibodies. So why should I vaccinate my child before a year old, if I do at all. & vaccinations are still relatively new what if in 20 years from now further research finds out that vaccinations are actually causing certain illnesses. & for whoever said that doctors shouldn't have to research vaccinations because the CDC already authorized them, are you serious! ! Because someone said they were OK they are so no further researcher should be conducted, that doesn't make any sense to me.

every time i vaccinated my daughter she got sick really sick and her legs would hurt alot anything touching them like a blanket or even pants would make her cry.. now i have done research deep research and have found A LOT of bad things about them and i asked a Dr more in the natural path type of ways and said if its good for your body your body wouldn't fight like your baby's body fights it with fevers and all this things that happen to her so you answer that yourself so now im debating because i have also heard if you don't vaccinate your child, child services would pay you a visit but im scared of getting them on my 2nd child now.

I will vaccinate my son. Just like some of the other ladies, there are diseases coming back that most people should have already been vaccinated for. Even just doing normal things like going to a store or whatever, being exposed to someone that hasn't been vaccinated either for a particular disease can put baby at risk and I wouldn't want to risk him getting sick and not getting proper medical treatment because it's uncommon. I'm happy for the moms that didn't vaccinate and their babies are healthy and happy, but I wouldn't want to risk it

Not vaccinating affects others around you. So i am going to try and put this as nicely as possible.
There is a reason why these dieseases dont come back, because they had been eradicated and if people stop vaccinating well guess what? Eventually we will start seeing more and more dieseases around and then guess what? People will start vaccinating again. Everyone is different and therefore reactions are bound to go bad statistically, that is just the roll of the di. Everyone is forgetting that diesease is a part of life, vaccinations prevent them from reoccuring. Personally i think that if you dont vaccinate you are putting others at risk and that is very selfish. Doctors dont need to study vaccines because they have already been studied and approved by the CDC. As far as the chick who said "idk why these people should worry since theyre vaccinated" or whatever she said. Again it is to PREVENT these dieseases from coming back. Vaccines do not keep you completely immune but your immune systembuilds around that vaccine. I think its funny how when something like whooping cough comes back, anti vaxxers decide to vaccinate. Please do everyone a favor and vaccinate your children because its for the benefit of everyone.

I'm not 100% sure, I know it can be done because one of my nurses when I had my daughter didn't vaccinate her children either and was able to enroll them in school. I was super out of it so I don't remember exact details. She ended up giving my mom her phone number Lol so she could give my mom all the information. From what I remember there are exemption forms you fill out ahead of time. Like religious and personal reasoning. Something along those lines because vaccinations are reccomended, yes, but your child doesn't legally have to have them.

Emtum- I didn't know you could pick and choose which shots your child can have. What will you do when your child starts school w/o the ones they say they need?
I'm interested so now I can discuss with my husband that option.

I'm all for vaccinations.  Diseases are coming back because people are not getting vaccinated...not being rude at all, but you're kinda putting your baby at risk to catch something very serious. Just because one kid never got sick doesn't mean yours wont.

We even had to change pediatrician because she was extremely pushy and didn't like when I said no.

We do some. Our daughter only get ones we feel are nessecary. She doesn't get hepatitus a or b, rotovirus, the chicken pox vaccine and another one I forget the name. And she doesn't get the flue shot either. She's 1 1/2 and she's gotten MMR, polio and one more.

I always wanted to know why if some is vaccinated why would they worry about others that are not vaccinated? If they work like they're suppose to

Dunno if I have the option not too, if I wanted to go that way. Cus my husband is army and we live on a military base. I don't see why not vaccinated would be a big deal as long as you're sure thats what you want, but when school comes around don't they have to have vaccines? I don't know of all the vaccines they give but thats my job to ask the doctor everything about them, things to look for, and exactly why its needed. Either before or after they are given. I am prolly going to vaccinate, just cus it seema like its the normal thing to do.

Vaccination saves lives. Anti-vaxxers spread disease.
Vaccinations have absolutely NO link with autism. This has been proven time and time again. The one "study" that showed a link was completely falsified for personal gain by a man who lost his medical license because of his lies.
I vaccinated my child like my mother vaccinated me. Not because I know what having measles is like but because my mother and her siblings went through it. Her sister barely survived. I know most people survive chicken pox just fine but a look at the horrific scarring on my little sister's legs means I won't subject my little boy to a disease that can do something like that to the body, if I can avoid it. If you've ever heard the sounds made by a baby with whooping cough you'd move heaven and earth to protect your own baby from such a terrible experience.
Vaccination saves lives. It allows our precious children the opportunity to avoid life-altering complications from preventable diseases. I know for sure that it is the right choice. I can't imagine how anyone would choose to let their baby get the mumps if there was another option.

It's a touchy subject.. But, our first son we got him vaccinated and he didn't get sick if he did it was mild and don't remember. Our second I read up on them and researched a lot. I found interesting things I didn't like so we decided we won't have our 2nd vaccinated. He has been sick a lot this past year. We are now getting him vaccinated because of schooling.
