Inducing labor

Am 39 weeks now..have an appointment next week. Is that ok to ask your doctor to induce you.as i dont want to cross my due date. Does doctor listen to you or not?

Yeah some doctors do, my dr with my first pregnancy told me at 37wks to just tell him when I was ready and he would schedule. It never hurts to ask though if that's what you want and your pregnancy is healthy as can be.

My son was born at 39 weeks and still had problems regulating temperature, so keep in mind not all babies are ready on time. My son was measuring ahead and my water actually broke on its own. Waiting is the best bet

If there's not a medical reason most won't, and honestly shouldn't. Most won't induce until 41 weeks, but some do it based on convenience.

I agree it depends on your Dr. This is my first pregnancy but my doctor was also my mother's and he induced everyone of her pregnancies at 37weeks. As long as everything was going good

Depends on Dr and hospital. My Dr won't induce until 41 weeks.
