Inducing

Some people say doctors allow it and others don't so I want to hear your experiences. I'm due September 24th and my fiancé is being forced to go to a conference for his work the 21st- 23rd unless I have the baby early. Has anyone convinced their doctor to induce them a week early so your spouse/boyfriend can be there?

Lots of doctors don't like to induce unless it's medically necessary.

The chances of baby being born on those days are very very slim, if this is your first you are statistically more likely to go late. And most first labors are about 16 hours long, depending on how far away hubby is that may leave plenty of time to get back. Being induced before your body is ready can lead to further intervention all the way to emergency csection. Then you are left after a major surgery alone while your husband goes to the confrence, just something to think about.
