Insomnia

Is it OK and normal to have really bad insomnia while pregnant? I am around 6 weeks right now. Couple weeks ago, I was Always tired and sleeping a lot more and now all of a sudden, insomnia struck since a few days ago....and I have huge headaches. I have been sleeping about 3 hours at most every night if I do fall asleep at all. My doc told me I can't take any sleeping pills either. I just started taking acetaminophen for my headaches and it barely works, but that's all I can take while prego. Is there anything I can do or take to help my crazy insomnia? I heard its bad for the baby too if I don't get enough rest either. Please help =(
