....do second/third, etc. time fathers suddenly revert back to some sort of "first time fathers syndrome" when they have a new baby? lol
I know that it's been 3.5 years since we had our first baby and, sure, some things are fuzzy even for me, but DH is always asking me things: "what do we do about this or that?" "how do we do this or that?" The other day, he asked me if it was "ok" for us to start giving DS no. 2 (who's now 4 months old) formula, if it wasn't maybe too soon. I had to remind him that we - or, more accurately, I - started weaning our oldest son when he was 3 months old, replacing BFing sessions with bottles of formula until he was weaned at 6 months....AND that some women never can breastfeed or choose not to, so those babies are on formula from day 1.
First time mommies....my adivce is to write everything (well, within reason) down in a journal or baby book for your little one - I find that I'm referring to the one I did for our first time....checking to see when he hit certain milestones, etc. Besides being a wonderful keepsake for your child when he/she is older, it's a great reference for YOU when the next one comes along :-)
