Is it okay to drink diet soda?

I'm 26+1 and lately I've been craving diet Dr pepper and I have been wanting it... I drank one but when my mom seen me she said oh your not allowed to have diet soda    ... I asked why not and she said your just not suppose too.. does anyone know if you can or can't have diet soda ? And why?

Try a seltzer.. I drink the flavored ones... Grape is the best.. And it'd like drinking water.. Zero everything

Diet soda has aspartame(artificial sweetener) in it. It's not recommended while pregnant. My doc said she would much rather me drink regular soda. Just have to drink it in moderation.

I was told no diet sodas at all when pregnant. And my dr made a limit of 100 mg of caffeine a day

Oh and I've also been mixing different flavors together because I'm weird like that, and I can't stand sprite after my morning sickness phase.

If you want soda, is stay away from diet sodas and caffeine, which is sooo hard for me because my husband got me addicted to sundrop pre-pregnancy (bottled is most delicious) and he still drinks it constantly! Lol I substitute a generic brand(just a preference) grape soda when I need my fix, or take a sip of his sundrop, lol.

Diet soda is horrible for you pregnant or not. I definitely wouldn't drink it while pregnant though. Stick to sprite if you must but flavored seltzer is so much better for you.

Diet dr pepper is pretty good, when i stayed in the hospital the nurse gave it to me so its safe, and its sugar free. Usually diet sodas have lots of sugar but there are some that arealso sugar free.

I wanted some soooo badly today too.  I actually like the taste of diet cokes vs regular cokes.  I don't want to drink regular though bc of the high fructose corn syrup.  Too bad cokes with cane sugar are hard to find.

You can have diet soda but i would keep it to a minimum because of the aspartame. Ive asked my doc about it cuz i cant have reg soda because i have geatational diabetes. I like the diet hansens soda cuz they have succralose instead of aspartame. Thats just me though.

Diet soda...  Not sure about.  Any diet soda is bad for you period whether pregnant or not.  Research shows it can cause cancer.  Also contains aspartame which is a form of rat poison, anyway.  Soda is alright during pregnancy here and there...  As long as you don't consume for then 200mg.
