Is it safe to have a bath after your waters have broken?

Hi, im 31 weeks pregnant, getting used to the idea that i am facing the prospect of labour sometime soon!! ha ha ha
Could someone tell me if it is safe for me to have a bath after my waters have broken?
Logic tells me that its ok because you can give birth in water but people have told me that you are only supposed to shower after the waters have broken......does anyone know one way or the other??

Hello,

You can get your ob or midwife's opinion, but I'd suggest a shower only after rupture of membranes.

Best regards,

well from wat i have gathered it is fine to take baths, just not with any high temperatured water. im 32 and have to take baths due to i cant stand anymore. and if you have seen the movie knocked up notice she is in the tub whilst in labor before she gets to the hospital, it should be definately ok, just ask your doctor for more info
