Kidney Infection

Has anyone had a kidney infection during pregnancy?
My OB isn't going to be in until Wed because of the holidays.
I've had a kidney infection before, I get UTIs really easily and have already had 1 UTI during this pregnancy.
The symptoms I have feel exactly like my previous kidney infection, but I don't know if its really kidney infection pain or pregnant pain. /:
Should I go into the ER?
Its a sharp, stabbing pain on both sides of my middle back. It doesn't feel better when massaged. I know it isn't a muscle or ligament. I also have pain in my belly on my right side. You guys think its just normal pregnant pain? Should I wait for my OB to get in on Wednesday? I'm still feeling little one move like normal, its just me that is in pain.

Totally go to the ER!!! If your doc were in tomorrow that would be a different story but you don't want to wait until Wednesday. Kidney infections aren't anything to mess around with!!

I never had a kidney infection but at 29 weeks I had kidney stones that caused my urine to be pure blood and contractions that required magnesium to stop. I would go in just in case. Like the other lady said its better to be safe than sorry

yeah they said UTIs are never cured until the finish the very last pill, I learned that on my last trip to the ER because of severe back pain so they had to give me a higher dose because it was such a bad UTI. My great-grandma actually died from an untreated UTI...random. But yeah, go to the ER. lol

yeah, UTIs and kidney infections can be extremely harmful while pregnant. I'd go just in case, even if they told you it was something else. You'd at least have that piece of mind and get it taken care of if it is a kidney infection.

It's better to be safe then sorry! If it is a kidney infection it can get in your bloodstream and be harmful to the baby
