Late Period, (-) HPT

I am a 23 yo fem., 3 days late for period, ovulation days should have been Oct. 12-17.  LMP Sept. 25-Sept. 29.  I took a HPT on Oct. 30 and it was negative.  Experiencing tiredness, irritability, egg white discharge, one night had a brownish rust colored discharge, but VERY little of it.  I am aware these could be signs of a coming period, but was also informed they could be signs of pregnancy.  Was my HPT too early to give a positive result?

My girlfriend and I had protected sex twice since her last period and everything seemed to go fine. However she is already two weeks late on her period and complains of stomach pain frequently at night, and has gotten sick to her stomach once. She took a HPT 1 week after her missed period and it came out negative. What are some possibilities other than pregnancy? Please reply with any and all information/help.

I finally started.  Bummer... :(  It's been very strange though, It was light, or regular, I didn't have a heavy day at all, and I've been sick to my stomach every single night since then.  I'm a tad bit creeped out right now.

I started spotting too, on Monday night.  That was the same day I spoke to my Dr.  He said to wait another 5 days and take another test and call back if I still haven't started.  I'm not sure what I will do now.  The spotting was fairly heavy, but it only lasted a little over a day.  I may make an appointment anyway because things are just strange with me this month. I really doubt that I am pregnant but since I am ttc I want to make sure nothing is wrong. I'm also confused.

I am officially 1 week late now.  I took another hpt on Sunday, again neg.  I am now spotting, and its a dark brown color.  To say the least, I'm anxious to know what's going on.

Had you missed your period yet when you took the neg HPTs?  I am 3 days late and have taken 3-all negative. The tests do not even have a faint line! The only times I have been late before, I have been pregnant, so this has me so confused.

Hello,

A pregnancy can be detected as early as 8 days after ovulation.  HPTs differ in sensitivity; however, the two best (First Response Early Result and Clearblue Easy Earliest Results) can detect a pregnancy at the time of the missed menses (generally ~two weeks after conception).  If negative, repeat in one week (and/or pay a visit to your ob/gyn).

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

I was indeed late. 5 days to be exact......I took 5 hpts and all negative......I stopped stressing about it
and waited another week to test. I was so thrilled to find out that it was positive.......So just be patient and don't stress......Good Luck to You
