15 days late + 6 negative EPTs = frustration!

I stopped taking birth control pills on June 10th, 2009.  I had a period directly afterwards (June 12-17) and then again in July (15th-21st).  It is now August 27th... 2 weeks after I expected I would have started menstruating again.  I have taken 6 pregnancy tests total (including one at the doctor's office yesterday).  All tests are negative :( .

I know that it is possible I didn't ovulate this month, but could it be that I am pregnant even though the tests say otherwise?   I am very tired this past couple of weeks and am getting period like cramps daily (keep thinking its about to start... then nothing).  The doctor I saw wants me to re-test in a few days and then wait until a second cycle is missed if the results are still negative... but this is so frustrating! lol

Hi!
Your body is probably still trying to regulate after discontinuing the pills.  It is fairly common for the first few cycles to be irregular.  Also, if your periods were irregular before you went on pills, it will very likely be irregular again when you are off them.
One thing I sometimes do in this type of case is to give the patient 5 days of Prometrium.
Infertility doctors sometimes use this drug to support a pregnancy, preventing miscarriage.  If you are not pregnant it will induce your period so you can move on to the next ovulation and try again.  If you are pregnant, nothing will happen, and you can repeat your pregnancy test.
Don't get too frustrated--stress is counter-productive when you are trying to conceive!
Good luck!
