Menstrual like cramps

Has anyone experienced menstrual like cramps early in pregnancy?  I am almost 6 weeks and have off and on menstrual like cramps anywhere from my sides to my pelvic area. I had an ovarian cyst rupture recently so I was told the pain in my side came from the fluid left around my ovaries and that it would take care of itself.  It has been 11 days since the cyst ruptured but I still occasionally have pain. I don't have any spotting nor bleeding but want to know if this is normal (outside of a cyst) pregnancy symptoms.  Any advice is great!

Msunique25 I've been told as long as there's no bleeding or spotting then you are good. If the pain is unbearable then go to the Dr. You may also find comfort in the responses (above) that others shared regarding my question.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that it is very common to have menstrual-like cramping and discomfort during pregnancy.  The fluid from the cyst is almost certainly long gone.  You can take Acetominophen if necessary for cramping, but unless it becomes severe pain, or you have bleeding, there is no cause for alarm.
Good luck!

Thank you all for the reassurance. I went to my ob yesterday and was told everything is looking good and this cramping was due to my uterus stretching. I get to hear the heartbeat on the 30th. Im very excited and anxious about our lil blessing growing.  Thanks again everyone

My first pregnancy I had them bad. With this one they come and go. Drink plenty of fluids its seems to help and get lots of rest when you can. They will get to a point that you will just ignore them. Congrats and good luck :)

I had cramping my entire first trimester up until about 10 weeks. I had very little spotting and all of my levels were normal so I wasn't worried. The best advice I have is take Tylenol if it's too bad and rest often. Your body knows what it needs and it will do whatever to let you know it needs rest. Also drink a lot of water! If you start spotting or you can't seem to be able to keep down water without vomiting, I would see your ob asap! Every pregnancy is different and what might be normal for one person may not be considered normal for you!

I've had the same pain with both pregnancies. It's just ligaments stretching. Perfectly normal. If you get to concerned though call your doctor.
