Mirena/Pregnant???

I had my mirena inserted August 9th of last year (2009). Everything has been normal up until about 3-4 weeks ago. My periods were going normal and very very light and not every month like the mirena should do. My Fiancee said he could feel my mirena during intercourse, and i checked it myself and I too could feel it. I know you shouldnt be able to feel the actual mirena so I am pretty sure something is wrong with it. Then I randomly started cramping very bad and bleeding very heavily for 2 weeks straight. Then a little over a week ago, maybe 2, I stopped having my period altogether. My fiancee told me a few days ago that he noticed Ive been urinating alot more than usual every day for about a week. I hadnt thought about it until he said this, then I noticed I do go to the bathroom at least 6-7 times a day some days way more. I have had a few days where my nipples are very sensitive and sore and it hurts just to put my bra on. And a couple days where I had light cramping in my back and stomach. I have also noticed a change in appetite, and very little nausea w/no vomiting.

I am currently waiting for my medical card appointment in order to go have the mirena removed, but I need some advice on how to cope with this. We are hoping for another child so please send baby dust :) And pray that if I am pregnant that the mirena does not result it in a fatal way.

Anyways.. we took a pregnancy test very early yesterday morning but it was invalid. :( so we are not sure wether to take another test right  now or wait.. we do not want the disappointment if it is a negative. But are very anxious to find out if I am or not. What do you all think?????

Hi!
You should defintely have the Mirena removed, if it has not already fallen out!  I might almost wonder from your symptoms whether it was expelled during that very heavy period.  If you were my patient, I would also do a pregnancy test.  In most cases, removal of the IUD is recommended if pregnancy occurs.  Often it can be done without disturbing the pregnancy.

Hope this helps!

Thank You Very Much. This Helps Alot. I Had Actually Checked The Mirena Myself, Doing It How The Mirena Website Told Me, And I Could Feel The Mirena And It Almost Felt Like It Was Wrapped Around Something.?. Im Not Sure But Its What It Felt Like. But Now I Cannot Feel It At All Neither Can My Fiance. I Think I Had My Implantation Spotting Yesterday Morning, I Have Not Spotted Or Anything Since Then And Have Some Cramping Today. We Have Taken Two Pregnancy Test, One This Morning, And They Both Were Invalid. Do You Know What Could Cause The Test To Keep Doing This? Or If We Should Take More? Thank You So Much For Your Time.
