Miscarriage

Hi, I need help. Im 4w6d pregnate but am told im going to misscarry. I found out on the 3rd of July I was pregnate by several at home test. On the 4th of July I started spotting but looked it up and thought it could be nothing but called an made an appt with my OBG just incase. The appt wasnt till the 7th. On the 5th the bleeding got heavier so I got worried and called my OBG again. They said to go to the ER. I went to the ER and found out I was 4w3d there. There measured the sack. They told me it was not an atopic pregnancy and that my HGC levels were normal at 264 so not to worry to much about the bleeding but to follow up with my OBG. Went to my appt yesterday on the 7th and they said my levels dropped to 191 but still saw the sack in the U/S and it grew. The bleeding has stopped but they still say I have miscarried. I DONT UNDERSTAND?! If I miscarried then why could we still see the sack in the U/S. If I didnt already miscarry, am I going to for sure cuz I stopped bleeding? Pregnancy test is still showing positive. I just need to know so I can deal with it! My husband and I have been trying very hard and want to try again if need be!

If your numbers are dropping it is not a good sign.. If the sack is still there you havent passed the tissue but could be in the process of miscarrying now...  The bleeding could come back and evenually turn heavier...  You test can continue to show positive for a bit after you pass the tissue as well.. After mine, I was still testing positive two weeks later but my HCg was alot higher at the time so it took a while to drop.

Given the fact that your numbers have dropped I would say you are probably going to miscarry..  Its interesting that the sack continued to grow, If you dont start passing anything in a weeks time, I would get a new U/S done.  Some woman dont end up naturally passing it and may require a d&c.. but before you go that route, give it some time and get check out again..  Because stranger things have happen.

I agree with the other poster.

I'm also wondering if you could have a vanishing twin...that would cause your hCG levels to temporarily drop while the sac for the remaining twin grew. so...hang tight and ask for further testing in a week...both blood work (hCG) and an ultrasound.
