Do I really need a baby monitor???

my daughter is gonna be 2 in July and i still am using mine(she has slept in her room since 6 months)... and if you ever have someone babysitting its nice for them as well... reasurance that baby is okay...

Yea she'll be on other side of house then me, but didn't think she'd be in her room much. But napping I'm sure would be useful. Thanks so much much for your help : )))))

You don't need one but they are nice to have. I have a large house and it is just easier to have one.

PS i used cash from friend/family to buy the monitor(baby gift)... so spending that money was justified that they helped buy something more exspensive for her...

I would say it depends on how big your house or apt is and if your a light sleeper or not.  If you have a large house where its hard to hear or other kids who will be creating noise causing you not to beable to hear well or your a heavy sleeper I would get one if none of those apply you should be good without one

I love mine, its not that i have a big house and that i couldnt hear her from across the hall but i am sure i could tune her out easily in my sleep if i was just listening that way and i know my BF would for sure! (i work nights so some nights he is home alone) And its nice for when im out in the yard or in the basement at nap time... mine is an angel care monitor that has the senser pad that goes under the matress for movement and you can just turn this option on with out the sound.... so its nice when sleep training so you know that they are safe and you dont have to listen to crying... i do have another one thats just a cheap one that i use when i go to other ppls houses, like at my sisters we would be in the basement in a big house so its handy to have there... and for company its nice to have for their kids...

you dont have to get one by any means,  honestly im sure i could live with out it but i would rather not lol if you are to get one, its best to find one with out that horrid constant static sound... my cheap one is like that and my good one only picks up sound when there is sound to pick up so its very quiet....

No lol for thousands and thousands of years women raised children without baby monitors lol. They are a convinience and a luxury but not something you have to have

I had it with my first and never used it so with my 2nd i didn't get one and said almost everyday that i needed to go buy one so for this baby i have one! You can always get just the basic one of buy one used on Craigslist and resell it if u don't end up using it.

Many may say u NEED one..but it's not a necessity.  I got one, but no u don't technically need one.

Not necessarily.  I have one from my son, but I live in an apartment and you can pretty much hear everything from one room to the next, so I'm not going to even use it.
I rarely used it with my son.
