Names

Okay,  I need help. Every time we talk about names my boyfriend says he wants to name the baby (if it's a girl) after his grandmother. Only three days before I found out I was pregnant his grandma had died,  so it is still a very touchy subject.  His grandma didn't even go by her first name because she hated it so much,  so how am I supposed to let him name an innocent child after her?  I understand the reason behind it,  but I really do not want to name my child Mona!  Any susuggestions on how to tell him gently?

Thank you.  That's a great suggestion, but I'm more trying to get rid of the idea all together...  But that doesn't really seem like it will happen

Can u name her something like Monica. Its close and you can call her Mona for short :)

Maybe you can compromise on it being the middle name?

We've talked about using it as a middle name,  but it doesn't go with any of the other names that we have chosen. And he is set on using her first name exactly. I'm just worried about upsetting since it's very recent.

Maybe just use it as a middle name. Or do a different version, my grandmas name was judy and my baby sisters name is julia because they wanted to name her close to my gmas name.
