Ya they have done the same with me but I get injections once a week and they just stop doing the u/s weekly checks and they are just going to do any manual checks if I am having symptoms
Just stay put trust me its worth it even if it gets a lil boring good luck and just take it one day at a time a lot of them they are overdoing it to be safe but I am sure things will be fine

Did they do an ultrasound to measure cervical length?  I was having similar issues when I went in for my 20wk ultrasound and they saw I had cervical funneling and shorterning they placed me on strict bedrest and once weekly delalutin (sp?) To prevent any cramping or contractions. I have been on bedrest since 20 wks and I am almost 30wks and holding. Did they put u on bedrest?

Sorry I meant to add - we have plenty of ladies here who started dilating early and still made it close to or to full-term, so don't freak out it's not horrible..as long as you're still closed and baby's doing fine, it's actually OK...once you start dilating, then it will require some action (cerclage, bed rest, etc) but for now my guess would be that it just needs monitoring.

sorry you had such a rough month :-( is everything ok?

Well it could be a problem or not...I mean it really just depends. Obviously they'll want to monitor you, and if you have ANY contractions or any more bleeding, or any unusual pain I would go IMMEDIATELY to be seen...but there are a few things they can do now. they can watch, and wait, and see...you may stay closed until the end, it's so hard to say, and I would stay off my feet and avoid stress as much as possible (easier said than done, I know, I know..), or they can put in a cerclage just in case to reduce the risk that you'll dilate early, they can put you on bedrest...I mean, did your doctor say what he was planning to do? My guess would be that since you aren't dilated they just want to watch you - how long until your next appointment?
