Negative Blood Type

So I have AB- blood and I was wondering if anyone knows what exactly the shot we are suppsed to get does?

OK only mothers that r RH negative (negative blood type ) get the rogam shot....it stops your blood from taking on the antigens of the baby's blood if mother and baby's blood mix at the time of birth...if this were to happen and you should end up pregnant again there's a chance your body would abort the baby and you'd miscarry this happens when the blood type is different due to the now antigens you adopted from this baby...the shot stops your blood from doing this ...you will get the shot around 28 weeks and then again after birth and then with every pregnancy after

My blood is O- and I had to get the rogam shot twice ahah

I was told if my baby has a different blood type because i to am ab - than i have to get the shot, if she bas fhe same blood type than i dont need the shot.... with my son, i dont remember getting a shot at all so i guess he has the same blood type as me, no doctor has told me what his blood type is and hes 6 years old now.

Oh okay! I always thought there was another shot if you had a negative blood type, but I could very well be wrong ha

Its the rogam shot.. most all moms get the shot... FTM especially... it doesn't matter wheather your blood is negative or not
