New Clothes

Hi ladies:) I was just wondering how many others have had to buy new clothes during their pregnancy. I'm a very small person to begin with (5'4 103 lbs and size 2 before pregnancy) and I am now 31 weeks and weigh 115. I'm very healthy but I haven't gained weight anywhere except my belly and I've went up a little more than a whole cup size in my breast. Basically I'm all baby and all out front. Up until now I've just worn my regular clothes, except I cannot wear my jeans. I've been wearing all my cute yoga pants and sweats with comfy tanks and shirts. Now that the weather is getting hot I was running out of things to wear because none of my summer clothes are very stretchy, and I've been pretty bummed about it. So last night my wonderful hubby took me out to eat and shopping. I didn't want to spend a ton of money on things I'd only wear for 2 more months but I ended up getting a lot of great things to wear, that I'll also be able to wear after I have the baby:) and all of it was on sale. I got several stretchy skirts, cute yoga shorts and some leggings with really cute tank tops, a few shirts and some of those long flowy maximum dresses. I just had to make sure the tops were long enough to go over my big tummy lol. Anyway, I feel so much better now that I have clothes to wear that I'll also be able  to wear post baby. I've went to several maternity stores and none of those clothes fit me:( So have any of y'all had to go out and buy new clothes?

I had to buy maternity clothes in the first trimester; I showed really early and just kept growing. Now I'm 28 weeks and none (and I mean none) of my pre-pregnancy clothes fit, so whether to buy maternity clothes wasn't a question. I can wear dresses and wing it at home a little, but at work I have to dress professionally and can't wear dresses, so I needed nice maternity slacks and tops. I did try to find what I could at thrift stores or on sale, but the only thing I refused to buy was a winter coat. I live in Texas and our winter is like 2 months long...but for those 2 months I went without a coat that would actually button, with my belly poking out lol.

Bikini lol not happening for me... Not until I get some surgeries done! I need a tummy tuck ASAP! N even if my belly goes down its not bikini ready in 2-3 weeks I am gunna need my p90 to whoop my a$$ back in shape! It ***** but I will be avoiding public water this summer! Which won't be impossible since the baby will be a new born and I wouldn't want to risk the heat and sun n e ways! Hopefully I can tan in my yard to help avoid looking all true blood this summer!

Msme3 LOL I was thinking the same thing! After we have the babies summer will just be getting good and started and you do leave the hospital with a little pooch. With my daughter, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within 2 or 3 weeks so maybe I'll go back quick with this baby, cause id like to wear my bikini this summer:) I am sooo ready for my sweet baby boy to be here!

At 27weeks here, I'm up 10lb so far and it's mostly belly. I think I spent around 150 on maternity clothes. Don't really feel like spend a tons of money on something I can only wear for a couple of months. I did wear a belly band over my old jeans until I out grown then at 17wks. Then I got a couple of pair of jeans from gap / old navy online, their sale section of course, I think I got them for 20 each. Last week I finally give in and brought a dress and two leggings. A couple of loose tops from Ross too, nothing over 10 bucks. I switched to sport bar awhile ago because they're more comfty. Plus a lot of my old dresses were empire waist so they still fit :)
Ya, we're pinching pennies here so I can spend more on the baby, can't wait :)

I also got summer dresses that I could wear with leggings and I love them. I was 180 lbs pre pregnancy and have not gained 1 lb. My body is evenly perportionate so I don't really look it... But I am all belly now. I did buy 2 pairs of maternity pants though. 1 is dress pants... Just incase and the other are jeans. But I got them super cheap for like $10 each at Burlington Coat Factory.

I think summer dresses is going to be a great investment you can wear them now with a cardigan n wear them as is after we have the baby. I hate that I'm going to be left "fat" right before the summer starts! I'm all belly too but hell you leave the hospital still looking 5 months prego! I'm due at the end of may do by the time I get my body back thanks to waiting 6 weeks summer will be on its way out! No beach this summer !

I'm in the same boat as you & kelsebby92. I'm due may 27 and want my baby here so I can get my body back! I'm 5'6 & was a size 4 before I got pregnant! But I've gained some weight, in my butt, boobs & deffinently my belly. Lol. Anyways, my hubby took me out to eat last night & shopping also! I didn't want to get too many things, but I got some shorts from vs that I can wear now & after baby!

Mekamomoftwo, I live in Alabama and it's hot here too. I'm glad I won't have to go the entire summer pregnant, I'm due at the end of May:) Thanks everyone for replying, it's nice to see what others are going through and get some different ideas!

I totally agree about buying maternity clothes, I didn't want to go spend a lot of money on clothes that I'll only wear for the next 2 months, plus I'm getting my tubes tied so I won't be needing pregnancy clothes again. I did look and and try a few things on but none of the maternity clothes even came close to fitting me, they were all huge on me. That's why I was so happy that when I went shopping last night I found so much great stuff that is actually cute and stylish... that I will also be able to wear after I have the baby. I'm still a size small in everything as long as it is made out of stretchy material, that's why I'll still be able to wear everything after this pregnancy. Like I said the only thing I had to do was make sure that my shirts and tank tops were long enough to go over my belly:)

I'm 22 Weeks with my 3rd baby. I'm smaller framed as well being only 5' but I did start to show quicker this pregnancy. It's mainly only  belly though so what I did was purchased a belly band (got on sale at babybeminematernity.com) to extend the use of my pre-pregnancy clothes & to help tighten the few maternity pieces I've had but were still a bit big at the moment. It's also available for around $16 at target. I love that they come in lots of different colors so you can wear them with everything and it's very comfy. It really was my best Pregnancy related purchase & I've used one for my 2nd pregnancy and now will be with my 3rd! Good Luck!

Im 25wks3d I bought a few cute long spring/summer sleeveless dresses that I can wear after the baby. I think buying maternity clothes will be a waste of money cuz after the baby I will just give them away or they will just sit in the closet taking up space but it's ur preference. O yea I live in Florida where it is very hot so sleeveless dresses will be cute n cool.

Im 30 weeks and 2 days and yeah I've had to buy a lot of new clothes none of mine for anymore. I'm not all baby though. But I'm also not unhealthy with my pregnancy she just slowed my metabolism I guess lol my hips got wide my boobs got huge and so did my belly but its definitely a baby in there my stomach is rock hard. I also wasn't tiny before I got pregnant. But I was pure muscle and a workoutaholic. Lol not the big bulky muscles though. I just want her to be here I want my body back :( lol

I bought several dresses too, in by original post I meant maxi dresses, those long flowy ones. And I'm like you, not even XS fit me in maternity clothes. They were huge! I was so excited to find cute stylish stretchy clothes. Stretchy is my friend right now lol!

I'm 30 weeks and decided to go out a buy a bunch of cute dresses that I can wear now and after the baby gets here. I can't find maternity shorts/pants that fit right so I just wear stretchy shorts.
