New mom here have a question please help!

I'm not sure whether I'm just experiencing BH or real contractions, my whole stomach tightens really hard it's not painful but it's uncomfortable and last week I was having them for like 5 hours straight only 3-4 minutes apart so I got worried and went in to be monitored. I was given a shot to stop them and I had my dr appointment today and I told him I'm still experiencing them some days. He checked me and I'm only 1/2 cm dilated. My urine sample left some bacteria so they sent in a lab culture but that takes 2-3 days for results so he gave me an antibiotic prescription and said that's what could be causing the contractions. My question is I left today not really knowing what to do if these contractions continue? Should I only be worried if they start to hurt really bad? First time mom here so Im not sure what's normal or not.

It definitely sounds like BH drink lots of water,  because being dehydrated can bring them on.  With my first,  I went to the hospital at 36wks thinking I was in labor.  Having them every 4-5 min apart.  Turned out I was just dehydrated!  If it was true labor contractions u will definitely know and they will become very painful! Hope this helps; )

Yeah sounds like bh you'll know real contractions cause they'll hurt lol. Stay hydrated drink tons of waters and keep your bladder empty as much as possible even if you don't feel the need to pee. When I went in for pre term contractions the nurse noticed n contractions where stronger when my bladder was full because I'm tiny and everything is so close together organs n such
