My daughter was 7 lbs and she was in newborn clothes for over like 2 months
I have had 2 baby boys born at 39 weeks my first was 6 lbs 15 oz and was in newborn for 6 weeks before any 0-3 month clothes fit him, and my second was born on October 10th he weighed 6 lbs 10 oz and because he was so skinny his newborn clothes swallowed him he was in preemie for the first 2 weeks and then started wearing newborn he's now a month old yesterday and is still in newborn; so it doesn't hurt to buy every size just in case
As for newborn I didn't buy any to begin with and when she was born everything was way to big so I had to send dady on a shopping spree as soon as we got home. She was in them for two months.
I would recommend at least having a few newborns on hand and leaving the tags on them that way if sheis to big for them you can exchange them for a larger size.
Id only get a few newborn n the rest 0-3. Thry can wear it when its too big but too small is a no go. Im leavin all the tags on till she is born so i can return stuff if i have to
You would only need premie clothes if your baby was really early I think. Premie clothes only go up to five pounds I believe, and I don't really think there are many full term babies that small. Even if they were five pounds to begin with they gain really quickly in the beginning so they would grow out super fast so I would think it was a waste of money.
I didn't buy either. My daughter is too big for preemie because she is full term. And newborn sizes will only be good for a week or so. I got 0-3 month clothes.
