No baby

Please I had my period for 5 days. 2 days later I was tested positive for blood pregnancy test. I took a scan and there is no baby in my womb. What is the cause because I have not taken any medicine to destroy the pregnancy.

A blood test is more reliable than a urine test but you need to go back and have another scan.

Thank you very much for replies. Is a week now yet my urine test proves negative while blood test proves positive. My husband thinks I am deceiving him with this pregnancy.

I would say you need to wait a week or two and try again. It sounds like your to early in pregnancy to see the baby.

Either it was a chemical pregnancy and you've had a miscarriage (which is very common, it happens to 1 in 5 pregnancies and is not because of anything you did - it's just the baby didn't grow properly).

Or it was too early to see anything: you'd need to be at least 6 weeks pregnant to see a baby.

The doctor told me to drink a big bottle of water and then after I had the scan again but nothing was in there. I was only treated for the severe malaria.

Well it could also just be too early...but they can usually even just tell by the way the uterus looks if you are/aren't pregnant...
