No period, cramping and brown spotting, pregnant?

i'm 17, and i have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend for about 2 years. (i know it's stupid) i usually have my period around the same time every month, but it has been late a few times. its now december 24, and my last period started around the 5th of november. in the beginning of this month my breasts were sore, and swollen which always happens right before i start my period, i also  had cramps like i usually do right before i start, so i assumed i would. a couple weeks went by and i didn't start, but then when i would go to the bathroom, i was spotting brown stuff. at first it seemed  like a lot, so i thought it was my period, but my periods have never started off brown, they do usually end with a little bit. but then the next day there was nothing. and on and off for about 10 days, i spotted just brown. i've had sharp pains in my abdomen, and cramps almost all month. this kind of thing has never happend to me before. i went to the doctors and they took a urine test to see if i was pregnant, and it came back negative, so they told me it might be too early to tell, and to come back in a couple weeks, i just want to know whats going on, if this sounds like i'm pregnant, or if somethings wrong..can someone pleasee help??

thank you for your responses, i appreciate them. i'm starting to wonder if the brown discharge was just my period, but it just doesn't seem normal to me, i know my body. and i'm still experiencing some abdominal pains and lower back pains, who knows. i just wish i could figure this out. i guess we'll see if i get my period next month hmm?

I used to think I loved the $tree brand because they were so cheap and reliable. But, lately I'm beginning to wonder how reliable they are. I had a chemical pregnancy in September at 5wks. My cycles had been running around 5wks, so when my period was late I took a test and it was positive. Lately the $tree tests I've taken have had faint lines in them. Just enough to trick you to make you wonder if you're seeing things. My advice to you now is to see your doctor. Being as late as you are, if you were pregnant it would have showed by now. You might have ovulated late or stressing over this has caused your cycle to be late.

have you taken a home pregnancy test?  It would most likely be accurate by now. typically a m/c you would have bad cramping and a lot more blood than spotting.  I hope this helps.

i also wanted to ask if this brown spotting could have been a miscarriage, and if so how would i know that?
