O- blood?

What needs to be done differently with pregnant women with O- blood. The father still needs to be tested for his blood type, but I know if his is positive then there's something I need to do..

Haven't been to the doctor quite yet and just curious. Thanks ladies.

I Have a- Blood Type And I Have To Go For A Rhogam Shot On March 6, I Will Be 28 Weeks. My Fiance Doesnt Remember What His Blood Type Is, So I Need The Shot Just Incase His Is Positive. I Was Told I Get A Shot After Delivery And If The Baby Has A Positive Blood Type, She Will Get A Shot. If Babys Blood Type Is Negative, They Dont Need The Shot.

If the baby is + you need to get shots or a shot however a reaction won't be present in you until your second baby.

You'll get a Rhogam shot at 28 weeks and after birth because if your blood mixes with baby's blood your body can attack the baby.

I know for my friend all they had to do was give her a shot once before the baby was born, and than again while she was in labour.

Rhogam shot at 28wks. Another after u deliver and baby will receive one after birth too. They do NOT hurt. Barely even notice, and is typically administered in the hip.

Its my case too..i am O - and my husband A+.  If u are negative and you have a second baby who is positive, ur body may try to reject it... so your doc will give u a kind of a vaccine around the 28th week to prevent it from happening.
