Jon and Kate did not do IVF. The only thing they did was IUI which is what my sister and bil did and they would have had twins if she was able to carry them to term. They lost them a year ago yesterday. It is less likely with IUI to get multiples than with IVF but it is still possible, especially with clomid like she was on. With my sister's last round of IUI they said she had 3 folicles that were all big enough and 2 more that were slightly smaller than they would want. None of them took though, but it was still a possibility that all 5 could have taken.
TY Griggsy! Now i understand i knew about meds to make you O i just didnt know without ivf if that many was possible!!
Joy-i dont have cable either as you said i chose the internet over cable when i moved cus you can watch ANY show you want online pretty much anyways LOL!! Jon and Kate is on you tube and on TLC *******!!
Yes, IUI can result in multiples. I did IUI and I had 6 follies that could have possibly implanted. Normally you take femara or clomid trying to super ovualte. The chances of all of them taking are only 25% per egg. I had 6 eggs and only 1 took. I was willing to take the chance.
Jon and Kate I believe did IUI, it is RARE that all the eggs implant, very rare. At times you might get 2, and even more rare is 3+.
I think Jon and Kate had IVF too. They have a new book out so maybe they talk about it in their book? I'm really not very familiar with them since I don't have Satellite/Cable (I wanted Internet instead, ha ha!) so I have never seen their show.
Thats what i was saying my guess was ivf but i remember on the episode where they answered viewer questions and Jon said IUI but i dont think thats right!
I dont believe IUI's are anything to do with implementation.....I was supposed to have an IUI and all it was was them taking my husbands sperm, sticking a cathedar in my uterus and inserting his sperm closer to the "Target"......Didnt Jon and Kate have IVF?
OMG! Totally disregard what I just said. I was thinking of IVF.
I believe an IUI is where they inseminate directly into the uterus. I think that some women also take ovulatory drugs. It is possible to have multiples.
IUI can result in multiple births but they usually only implant 2-3 embryos.
