Obese and pregnant

I just found out I am pregnant with my second baby! (My daughter will be 2 next month) with my first I weighed 20 pounds less but was still obese, also I did not have any health problems or any complications. My question is, is it safe to lose weight while pregnant?

Follow a healthy diet to reduce your risk of gestational diabetes  (which I currently have ) watch your carbs and sugars. Carbs are in everything! Even drinks I learned this the hard way. Eat meats and veggies more than anything. if it says fat free it's most likely not good for you. Also your local wic office should have nutritionists who will help with a food plan to help ensure your baby is getting what they need. Goodluck it's hard when everything is bs on food labels I learned a lot bc of gestational diabetes.

Dieting is usually not recommended during pregnancy unless it has been approved by your doctor.

I lost weight with all my pregnancies and I'm 228lb and I'm 27w1d and I haven't gained any weight yet. This is my 5th baby.  But I recommend not trying to lose weight but try not to gain too much weight.
