No, they can certainly do a tubal ligation after a vaginal birth - but it's a quick and easy procedure to do when the body is already opened up so many doctors almost seem excited to do it as an "extra" during a cesarean.
There isn't a law requiring a certain age or a certain number of kids. Many doctors are very concerned about being sued if their patients decide later that they didn't really want to be sterilized so they're extremely conservative in their general policies about it. They want to make sure you're "really sure" so you don't come back in a few years screaming and saying they didn't do enough to talk you out of it and of course you want more kids and they should have known better. It happens more often than you'd think. People are fickle.
If you're sure, and your doc says no, call more doctors until you find one that says yes. It is your body and your choice. My husband is getting a vasectomy after this one so I don't have to fight with anyone about it.
They will only do it if you have to have a c section?
It depends where in Ohio I had my second child last year c section and they wouldn't do it be you have to be 25 or have 3 kids just ask your doctor
I'm with my second in Ohio and I told my OB I didn't want birth control after her but we are done with kids that my husband was getting fixed and she told me that if I needed a c section she can go ahead with a tubal and I signed the consents. I'm 22 So I'm guessing they can go ahead and do it after 2 kids
