i put up the pics of Grey's nursery...it's the same decorations we used for Kahlan...although it's technically not finished. we moved when I was like 8 1/2 months pregnant and I slapped the nursery decorations together in about 2 hours...so I still have to put up some fish border, about 6 more wall decorations...and we still haven't decided which crib we're buying so he's still in the bassinet for now (at his 1-month wellbaby he was weighing in at 9lbs6oz and the bassy goes up to 15lbs so we have a little while).

the place we're in is very old and was originally a mobile home that was gutted and remodeled so there are some crappy things about it (like the fact that the entire front area and nursery are all that wood paneling..lol) but I love this place so much and the view out of my baby's window reminds me why we moved here (besides the fact that the rent is only $300 because we know the landlord...we have about 3/4 of an acre that's fenced and completely blocked off from anyone's view...I love it here).

but yeah nursery pics are finally up I had like 10 people ask me to post and I never did, lol. it was a lot cooler at the old apartment but we just haven't finished this one yet.

Cassandra: I personally believe that clothes should be completely gender-specific, so I agree about that...decorations and hardware (like cribs, strollers, etc) don't need to be and in fact I think it's better if they're neutral because then you can re-use if you have more than 1.

I don't have photos of the nursery because we are far from done....
I just pulled all of the furniture out to steam the carpets this week. Here is the bedding though... (take out the spaces)

I found a plain white dresser at Ikea and I have other orange accents like the changing pad is orange. I'm thinking of light grey curtains and a super sized koi fish vinyl decal for the wall. Pretty modern aesthetic here. I will post pictures If I ever finish it all. Ha!

I have ALOT of neuteral stuff already, yellows and browns and whites and things.

The swing we havve is orange and white, as is the highchair, moses basket is browny neuteral, we already have one buggy that turns into a car seat thats black and grey, bottles are tommeee tippeee therefore are white anyways... But like the blanket it will have babies name on it anyways. And girls CAN wear like light blue alomst white.
its not mainly about clothes and things. I would like some gender specific clothes (and if its a girl I am getting a stick on bow with I am a girl written on it) Baby grows and things...
And then we can plan the room and get things we neeed for the room, and the light show if its a girls or boy's light show. and the side cover for a cot again neuteral but something for gender like the name in it. And wooden name blocks for his/her wall.

Its alot.. Most of the stuff is neuteral anyways but there are some things that I would like to be gender/sex specific if that makes sense? And I would be edging to know the whole way through and it would kill me!

LOL Ivy...I know right, maybe that's why he can get so high pitched when he screams...maybe we're all wrong and penises are really girl parts and vaginas are really boy parts...that would make perfect sense! LOL.

There's no way someone could mistake him for a girl now! ALTHOUGH, I have been told he's "starting to look like a girl" because of his hair...and then I think, have you seen the boys walking around anywhere? Are you blind? Elijah's hair is NOT long, sorry, but it's short compared to some boys...AND I've done a "boy" cut on him both times I've cut his hair.

Cassandrajane, I'm like you kinda, I wanted to know so I could pick out some stuff, but we mostly got gender neutral so we could reuse things too. Like the strollers we have are Winnie the Pooh, and one with blue and brown stuff on it, but the only other color for that stroller was pink and brown and we needed a new stroller for Elijah. But the pack n play is Winnie the Pooh, and the bedding for the crib. But like I said, some stuff is all boy, mostly clothes, but major things were neutral, OH! The swing/bouncer chair/walker...all neutral. I mean if you have another baby and it's a boy do you want him in pink stuff? Or the other way around?

Plus there is a blanket I would like to get with the baby's name sown into it to bring him/her home in too...
And then this blanket will be put into a box for keep sakes :)

I was called a boy! :( cause I was bald untill I was 2.

I know if I have a girl it wont be in Pink!!!!!!!! So it would be hard! But will have girlyish colourrs I guess. I am just a freak and I wouldnt be able to spend 9 months wondering.. I know it would be the greatest ever suprise, and some part of me does want to wait untill baby is born! But like bedding and things and like pram shoes and socks!! Socks are important! haha... No and my grandad wants to buy a buggy based on the sex/gender (I duno what it is) So yeah!!

well that's amusing...

I did it answering for when I was pregnant with my daughter and it said 68% chance I would have a girl....and I did.

I did it answering for when I was pregnant with my son and it said 70% chance I would have a boy..and I did.

funny ^_^

Cassandrajane~~~It don't matter what color clothes you put the baby in, SOMEONE at some point will call him a her or her a him. I had Elijah in a blue outfit with different balls on it and someone said "how old is she". When I said "he is (however many weeks he was)" She said "well he's too pretty to be a boy".

SO no matter what at some point your baby will be the opposite sex in someone's eyes. I saw the cutest little "girl with her hair in braids" well she was a HE...OOPS...that's why I always ask how old is your baby now...

I love parrots and things:).

Koi fish are like the most Beautiful fish going. They can be so many colours like oranges and pink and yellows and reds. And for bedrooms can be used for both sexes. :)
And Koi fish have such a great meaning behind them I know its not the same but I watch tattoo programmes like Miami ink, and alot of people get koi fish and it means a fresh start, or strength or something like that.

I love Koi fish :)

Spiket that sounds adorable! can you put up pics? or have you already and I just missed it? For Kahlan we did a tropical theme and so there are colorful parrots and colorful fish and lots of water and trees all over the nursery and bedding, etc...we were able to re-use it for Grey because it was gender neutral and still relatively new lol.

Only because I am an Organisation freak!!! I would want everything like the right colour clothes and things like that, Or I will go ape.

But orange and white it lovely :)

If we having butterflies in her room,
If its a boy I dont have a choice of his room, the room itself is the sky with clouds and its gonna have planes!! :( Poor baby! LOL...

But then it will last a few years too.

Scare? It's not scary. Finding out the sex is a relatively new idea and procedure.

I'm just going for healthy! I picked white and orange for the nursery. The bedding has koi fish on it. Exciting!

The old wives tales have told me both times I would have a boy.  And they have both been girls.  They are still fun to do though!
