Old Wives Tales

Bran and I think our little munchkin is a boy and will be finding out within the next month.  I'm carrying low, they're heartbeat is faster, I have dry palms. My nurse at Bella says she believes some of these 'Old Wives Tales'  or 'Myths' are true.  What do you guys think? What 'Old Wives Tales have you heard?

Lol! My baby's heartbeat was high and I didn't show at all. I'm having a girl:)
I also didn't have any morning sickness and according to folklore i should've had a boy,  so I totally doubt those old wives tales

Chinese gender chart was right with both of my babies! Both said boy an I'm a mom of one boy and giving birth to another in august

The chinese calender was right for both of ny kids so were the wives tales just had it confirmed cause im having a girl!

Could always try a needle test! If you're only about 4 weeks away from being able to have a sono, then the belly one even should be correct!  (:
To do a needle test, simply have someone that's not pregnant perform it for you. Use a needle you're sure is real metal, or simply a plain metal band. Hang it on a string with about 5 inches length. Lay down, and have the person testing you hang the needle over your belly, making sure not to be wearing ANY metal around your belly, and to both be VERY STILL. Do not let the needle touch your skin or the person testing you. If a circle, it's a girl. If a straight line it's a boy (:
The other way to do it is to remove any rings from your LEFT hand, as well as any metal bracelets. The person testing you will also have to remove the metal from their hands too, as this can mess with the answer. Place your hand palm open horizontally over the testers hand. Your palm should be facing down, and your testers hand should be palm up so your thumbs form a U shape. Again, making no contact with any skin, have your tester dip the needle 3 times between your thumb and hold it very straight over the back of your palm. Results will be the same - circle girl, line boy.

Some that I've heard are that if your linea Negara goes all the way up your belly it's a boy and if it stops at your belly button its a girl :) that one was true for me! Lol

All the wives tales said I was having a girl. When I talked I referred to my baby as "he". We even had a boy name picked out and started calling baby keegan Shane. My dreams showed I was having a boy. I was so sure it was a boy. All my family and friends said it was going to be a girl. Here I am today with my one month old daughter :) which I secretly wanted a girl a little bit more but I didn't care as long as baby was healthy which she is :)

I believe you will know what your having. ever since I got pregnant i always said "he" when I was talking about my baby, it felt natural. I had a dream it was going to be a girl but still thought it was a boy. today I found out that it was a boy. whatever you feel its going to be is how you will tell. at least in my opinion.

I heard if you eat like a growing boy you will have a boy....which in my case is true

My first two are girls.  This time I had a feeling the whole time that its a boy, and like you whenever I thought about my baby I always thought of him as a boy.  I didn't want one over the other just had a strong feeling.  Turns out he's aboy :)  The wives tales are all just by chance they are 50/50 going to be "true" for everyone.

I feel like some of you are taking what Im saying wrongly. I dont want a boy or a girl. It doesnt matter to me, I will love them either way unconditionally.  All I want is a healthy child.

Having a faster heart rate is old wives tale indicating girl. Everyone swore by my symptoms I was having a boy. No matter what wives tale or gender predictor or gut feeling. Im now in early labor with a little girl :) just love the baby regardless of gender

True. Just, my gut tells me in a boy and when I touch my belly and imagine my baby, I imagine a boy so. But we'll see. :)

It's true for me. I'm carrying low and I'm having a baby boy. :D you should do the Chinese gender chart:) that was correct for me :))) said I'm having a boy and I'm now 31weeks and I'm definitely having a boy :)))))))))

All wives tales said I was having a boy and I have a girl. Now I have a boy on the way. But I wouldnt fet my hopes up for a certain sex until the ultrasound

Not that I know of... babies are a "by chance" thing. It's a 50/50 outcome. It's up to the sperm lol

Well another thing is that the first born in my family was a boy and the first born in his family was a boy, doesn't that make us more likely to have a boy?

I carried low with all THREE of my pregnancies. 1 boy and 2 girls. Their heartbeats were all in the 140-150's lol so I just waited for my gender sono! I really think it all depends on the momma!
