Oh yeah, when I named my girls we practiced "yelling" or discipling. My oldest is Elaina Joi and my youngest is Abigail Lynn. So glad to know I'm not the only one who does the "yelling test"! We actually didn't name them until they were born, but those were among the choices we had picked out.
So this time around we're going to have names BEFORE they are born. Caiden Isaac is the boy name and Zoe Elizabeth the girl name. Although Zoe Elizabeth is kind of a mouthful to yell, so that's why I like Zoe Beth (plus, I'm sure some amazingly cute nickname would come out of that one!).
Well we had names picked out already when I was pregnant before -
Girl - Natalie Ann - Love how that flows - Natalie means "Chrismas morning" which is magical in my eyes and Ann is my first name. Plus with his last name it goes well - his last name is Patti so put that together and it sounds good. Plus I like how this sounded when I would scold her - try yelling "Natalie Ann" LOL, sounds good.
Boy - This one was harder because of his last name (see above), but we came up with a very strong sounding name - Tyler Joseph - which flows very nicely with the last name. Joseph is his first name. Sounds good too if you yell it...LMAO
LOL! You and me both, rachie (get preggo that is). How is that going, btw? I haven't seen you post on it lately but I have been on here so sporadically.
GA, you always make me laugh so hard!!!
LOL...me too. I like that "Early American Poverty"
I too have the obsessive baby bug. Oddly enough I didn't really buy anything in the 11 weeks I was pregnant with the last....but I did have alot of stuff given to me....the worst of it all is someone gave me probably about 50 items of maternity clothes but I didn't even get to wear any of it....this is my pitfall. I'll just open up my closet and dream about having this huge belly to wear all the clothes. I do have random baby items packed away from my son like a car seat and a boppy pillow. As far as room decor goes I received the new Babies R us catalog in the mail yesterday and hubby and I were making a wish list last night. (a mental one) I really want the rain forest theme equipment line from graco....it is so cute...all these bright colors. I guess now all I need to do is get pregnant.
I have no plans, i'm more of a wing it kind of person...as for decor...HAH you should my house...I l ike to call it "Early American Poverty" :)
Well I just went through a m/c with D& C and my DH and I are already planning on ttc but the doc said get at least 1 normal cycle under our belts just to make sure everything is ok.We already have names picked out and are atuck between the baby winnie the pooh or prescious moments for the baby room.
Our girl name is Katie Raelin- Katie is a name that I have always liked and my Dad asked if we could name our little girl Katie if we ever had one so my Dh was like YES. And on the Raelin Ray was my grandfather's name and he pasted away 2 years before I was born.My grandmother says I am just like him.So I thought that would be neat to name my baby after him.
and for the Boy I had Jonathan Levi picked out. Jonathan is my husbands name but he didn't want to name it that so i told him to pick out the boys name since I kinda picked out the giral and he came up with Lane Carson and I love it so it stuck.
oh yeah sorry so long
Well i as you know M/C in November and the minute i had a positive on the HPT i had thought of names, Ellie and Chloe for a girl and Lewis and Bradley for a boy! I was online looking at pushchairs and prams and had picked the Mammas and Pappas one that i wanted the top of the range one that converted into absoultely everything, at this point i didnt even know how far along i was! So no you are not pathetic at all there are hundreds of women who have done the same as me and you.
well AF IS EARLY so i guess i'm not pregnant either...ive been planning my mommy life since i was born...what are you talkin about...LOL!!
KellyA, that sounds absolutely gorgeous!!! But I think the green would look better on the lower half, with yellow on the top half!!! Yellow can get dirtier faster, so putting it higher with help with that. My youngest's room is pale blue on the bottom half and pale yellow on the top half of her walls. We have a border of stars and moons instead of a chair rail (I plan on putting chair rails in with the next baby because I love 'em!).
babbles, I love your decor and colors too!!! I love that you're going to throw in some retro fabrics, too!!!
babyedgar, we had the name Caleigh picked out (diff spelling, obviously)! I love that name (DH decided he didn't)!!! And we're both planning on jungle themes, so that is awesome! (I was actually trying to think of the word earlier and "safari" kept popping in my head, but that isn't the same thing!)
motherofan18month---Chloe is the other name I was thinking of! I am SO GLAD you wrote in! I was driving myself crazy trying to remember the name. Chloe Ann was a name I liked but Zoe is number 1 right now for us.
I'm not even pregnant! LOL! But I can't help but plan.
well i am a big planner as well.....i actually have everything (furniture) to put in the nursery( my mom bot it when she got preggo with my lil bro and it's still in the box---room-in-a-box)
i love the name zoe beth
for me: girl.....Khloe Delayne and i have i picked out a pink, baby blu, and lime green polka dot design kinda chic i think as well
boy: Keaton Drake and i just luv the sports theme for a lil booys room so as he grows his like for baseball, basketball will grow with him
Kerby's room is done in Disney cars which he loves!!!!
i'm 9 weeks pregnant and my husband and i have decided not to find out what the baby is so we have decided to go with a jungle theme. one feature wall is a green aqua colour while the other walls will be a yellow colour. we are going to decorate with jungle decor. ie. monkeys, giaraffes, tigers ect.
for names we like -
boy: elliott christoper augustus. elliott is my maiden name, christoper is my fathers name and augustus is my father in-laws name.
girl: kailee susan. Kailee is just a name i have always loved and susan is my mothers name.
i really like the sound of zoe beth. it just sounds sweet
That's awsome JoyRenee! I decided I'm not going to start BUYING yet until my 5th month. I figure that'll give my DH plenty of time to paint! But I have def thought about it! I'd want to do an accent wall, whether it's a boy (blue) or girl (pink) with the rest of the walls a warm cream colour. Lots of picture frames and shelves. I really like funky fabrics and graphic prints so tons of pillows with that on the window bench. And Nothing pastel. I really want a nice vibrant room for my little one. And my DH and I also have some names picked out, even before I got preggers! They're not set in stone but we really like Kaitlyn King and possibly David King or Benjamin King (in case you're thinking we're crazy to name our child King, it's actually a variation of my maiden name that I'd like my children to have).
I like Zoe Elizabeth. Very pretty sounding.
OK>....so if you're pathetic then I'm not sure what I would be considered??? I was 8 1/2 pregnant in Dec.as some of you may know.....then lost them (twins).....The minute I found out I was pregnant I started ordering stuff! I have an Eddie Bauer high chair, convertible car seat, changing table pad, Boppy swing, tons of diapers, wipes, shampoo, bottles, onesies...you name it! I'm such a loser! LOL! Themes....I haven't decided if I want to find out the sex when the time comes or not......So maybe light green on the top, white chair rail, pale yellow on the bottom (or vice verse)........I've looked at bedding and there are a bunch I like, but are gender specific...I'm sure I'll HAVE to find out b/c I need to plan these things ahead.....but I like to think that I could wait for the suprise.....How's that for pathetic! HAHA!
I have a name picked out - Rani - in Hebrew it means Song and I just find that so appropriate :)
Thank you!!! Zoe means LIFE and Elizabeth is my SIL's middle name.
If you guys think me planning stuff is pathetic... I actually have decor already, too (not all of it, I just buy things here and there!). Like I found these awesome plaques at the dollar store. They are bright colors with animals on them (hence where I got the theme idea).
*SIGH* Just wish I could get things going along. I feel like I'm in this never-ending cycle of no CM and unusually long periods.
I think I'm going to buy some pre-seed soon!
I'm not ttc but I really like the name Zoe Elizabeth, classy and fun. Im 4 months preggers and still haven't figured out a name!
