Severe pain isn't normal in early pregnancy.  It may be completely unrelated - like a stomach virus that will pass - but severe abdominal pain isn't a typical sign of early pregnancy.

It is normal to have lower abdominal pain while in your first trimeter that's where everything is happening. If you feel like your in a lot of pain or that something wrong call your doctor or go to the ER

its normal to have "lower abdominal" pain and cramping a lot in pregnancy. 99% of it is ligament stretching pain.

If you're in that much pain that it's making you very uncomfortable then go get checked.

So many people are saying it's normal but I disagree. There's a difference between a light cramp/pulling feeling of the increased blood flow and round ligament pain and "so much pain". Flat out PAIN is NOT normal but there's not much a doctor can to aside from have you wait it out. If you start bleeding or the pain gets really bad, get seen right away. It's normal to be tender and it's pretty scary but severe pain is not normal in early pregnancy and it is possible to have an ectopic pregnancy. Get checked :(

Cramping and being a litte uncomfortable is normal but severe pain is moat definitely not normal. Like someone else said it could be unrelated, could even be constipation but I would definitely go get checked if you are in great amounts of pain, with or without bleeding.
