Parenting

I'm currently on fmla from work since I had my son a month ago, I'm due back the beginning of January. I absolutely love being able to stay home with him all day and not worry about work. His father has the worst hours and works from 8am to 8pm 6 days a week. I totally understand that he's working and that's good but at the same time I get annoyed because of the fact that he's away from us all day. I feel like he just sleeps with us and that's it, I'm glad that I have a man who works such intense hours and doesn't complain but I guess I just miss having him around, I don't want our son to not know him since he only sees him at night and in the morning and his day off. Any other ladies kinda in the same situation?

My daughter will experience that when she comes. My bf works 8pm to 8am and sometimes longer. He works 4 to 5 days a week. Definitely not looking forward to that :(

I understand u completely my husband works night shift he Goes in at 5 pm and gets out whenever works is done. I have 4 kids with one being a week and a half old I hate that my hubby works nights I feel like he doesn't see us enough only his days off but I'm grateful he has a job. And when I had my son my hubby was only able to be with me the day I had my son so it was hard for me being in the hospital by myself.  Hopefully things get better for u and me good luck =)

Well this is actually his 1st real job, we've been together for a lil over 2 years and I've always been the only one that worked, even thru out my pregnancy. He's had jobs but they never lasted. He's been at this one since our son was a week, his pay isn't hourly it's based on how many jobs get done so that's why the hours are so long.

Believe me, I know how you feel. My husband works non stop. The last time he had a night off was oct 13 for our baby shower. He works nights so sleeps all day. Our kids miss him a lot, but this is only while i cant work. Im high risk and havent been able to work in months. I dont tell him anything because I know he does it for us and once the baby is here he'll be able to go back to an 8hr shift and get his sunday family day back. Everything will be okay...we can make our hubby's feel guilty about something they're doing with the best intrest at heart. Besides, its not like my hubby wants to work so much, but if he doesn't our bills won't get paid.

That's how I felt when I had my son. It is tough but you gotta remember he's doing it for his family and having a baby isn't cheap. Has he always worked these hours?? Is the 6th day mandatory?? I'm on baby number 2 and the hubby's always around and it irritates me now like I want him gone at work all the time lol sad I know but it happens

It was like that for a while when I had my.first because my hubby worked third. He's just doing what he's gotta do. Don't worry, he's around and your son can sense that. My husband only recently quit nights and works days now. But my son is two and gets super excited to see him. It'll be ok. It's better than not being there at all!
