Pets.

I've always been a huge animal lover! My cat and dog have been like my children for years now. This is my first pregnancy, and in about 3 and a half months, I'll birth two baby girls. My boyfriend wants me to get rid of my animals beforehand. This is extremely hard for me. I mean, I want to compromise, but at the same time, I know that it'll be hard to afford twins and pets. Has anyone else had to make that ultimate sacrifice?

You shouldn't give them away but yu HAVE TO BE SUPER CAREFUL WITH CATS. Since cats like milk they will try to lick yur babies face if they smell it on them(even if it actually isn't on them) so they will lick yur babies mouth & could suffocate them

I personally have 3 pets, 2 cats and a ferret, and I can't imagine having to get rid of them since they are my furbabies. The way I see it my son has 3 older sisters and I wouldn't have it any other way. If all else fails, make a budget that way you can plan out your monthly expenses and still possibly have some left over

I agree^^^ I have two dogs && a kitten... I'm not getting rid of them just because I got pregnant... ftm... me && my husband are making it work... you gave them a home... && they don't know anything but being home && your love... just imagine how horrible they are going to be in a shelter.... no love.. nothing... do you really want that for them??? It's like you said they are like children to you... you wouldn't give a child away just to take care of another... you make it work... count your money... spend it well... me && my husband all ready made counts && it works fine... plus hes the only one working... don't let him do that to you

Agree with wayfunmommy. Money has been tight for us because I have a high risk pregnancy and couldn't work and hubby is working on his phd. We have two dogs and make it work because they are family. Find out what can be sacrificed to make it work.

Pets are a lifetime commitment. You don't just get rid of them. There are 4 million animals currently in American shelters and only 1/3 of them will be adopted. We don't make a lot of money. We have our 5th child on the way. We also have 2 cats and a dog. We make it work.
