you can ask your regular doctor for a steroid called prednisone. It Does NOT cross into the placenta. I had to take it for phenumonia(sp) and 2 ear infections while 23 weeks preggers. I was also put on zithromax. The swimmers ears drops don't work for me, and I even have swimmers ears lol. It helps the ear drain, but it doesn't take away the infection or inflammation. It's like putting regular saline eye drops in your eye for pink eye.
Can you borrow the money to get the rx your dr prescribed? That is the only thing I think you should be taking. Tylenol will only aid in dulling the pain, and it will do nothing to combat the infection. If you are pregnant, you need to get rid of the infection first and foremost.
Im not sure what else you could take but the other medication you couldnt get did it come in a generic brand. Ibuprofen is good for pains but if your preggo then that medication would not be good. How far along are you?
