thank you everyone. My midwife is suppose to see sometime this week...i guess she cna't see me any earlier. So I called the OB since my midwife isn't sure she can make it out to my house every week, and I going to see what she has to say and if it's ok to maybe see her...but I know she doesn't want me to be in a car...so I don't know.
GRose...someone else on here told me they can't stitch your cervix once you've begun to dilate? I don't know if that's true...that's why I want to make sure I haven't changed, that's all I'm worried about with the spotting.
Mumita...If I had a bathtub, I would definitely do that. Right now hubby is renovating the upstairs and then I will have a nice tub (had he known this was going to happen, he would have left the bathroom upstairs alone, but what can ya do?)...until then I have to use the stand up shower, but it does have a seat in there, so when I shower, I just sit down so I'm not standing the entire time. My bed is downstairs so I can get to the bathroom easier and my friend is staying this week to help me.
Our last resort is medicaid...but I know if this baby comes early and has to be in the nicu...we will need some sort of assitance because we won't be able to afford it. My husband is going to call the hospital today and then see what else can be done if baby did come early. I'm just hoping we can get to 36 weeks.
Chantal, try doing warm baths with epson salt. Epson salt is basically magnesium salts and it helps to prevent pre-term labor. Check with your midwife first though.
Take it easy and don't do much.
Also if you live in the US you can apply for Emergency Medicaid and that should cover your pregnancy costs.
Dont they sometimes stitch the cervix closed?
I would def talk to your Midwife about the magnesium... Please keep us posted. Im geting worried about you!
Chantal, How is everything today?? I am so worried for you and the baby!! PLease update us on how you are doing!!! Always thinking of you and the baby!!! You're in my thoughts!!!! Can you apply for any goverment asst??
My husband was just reading something tonight about magnesium....I am going to have to ask my midwife about it. Hopefully she will see me tomorrow and just put my mind at ease. I'm constantly worrying now with all this discharge. 4 times today it's been tinged with pink. I freak out everytime I see it.
I think the only thingthey can do to try to stop labor beyond what you have had is Magnesium, which helps stop thecontractions and if Im right you have to contract to dialiate..... I am keeping you in my thoughts and please keep me posted! God Bless
Thank you all. I appreciate the prayers. Today I had a glob of discharge twice with some pink but mostly brown....I guess it is my plug? Also, when I had contractions today, I felt some back pain and pressure. ugh...trying to lay on my side mostly. I may see if my midwife can check me either today if things don't get better, or tomorrow. Can't they do something to stop the dilation if I have dilated anymore? I just want baby to stay put for as long as possible.
Oh sweetie, I hope everything is ok. You're in my prayers!
I dont have any advice for you but you and baby are in my prayers Chantal, I hope everything is ok. I'm so sorry you are having to go through this, how scary :(
thanks everyone. i called my midwife and she asked if I was having more contractions...I haven't had any in the last 2 hours thankfully. She said she would check me but I was just checked on thursday and she doesn't want to check me again because she said checking too often can cause things to happen. So as long as I am not contracting, she said it should be okay for now. I suppose if the contractions pick up any, I will just go to the hospital.
Yea I am happy the mattress is now downstairs, much easier to get to the bathroom now. I will keep everyone posted. Hubby is trying to see if we can get some sort of insurance and is going to call the hospital and in case things do start changing and I have to deliver early that they will work out some sort of payment plan and possibly reduce the cost for us, which they said is a possibility. I was going to apply for insurance after I had my first, but it wouldn't matter at this point...it wouldn't kick in until next year sometime. Stupid policies. I'm trying not to stress...At this point I just want to get to 34 weeks and then we will go from there.
Well I had some pink discharge around 30-31 weeks. They never did find the cause of the bleeding and I have never had any type of spotting or bleeding with my other pregnancies. I did get another u/s out of it all but everything has been fine since then. Sometimes its normal especaily if your dialating and effacing. You should definitly call your ob being that you have had so many problems and you arent fullterm yet and than TRY and relax. I hope its nothing. And im glad you DH is bring the bed down, now there is no excuse not to take it easy:) Hugs!
Everything could be fine! But that definitely is scary. Good thinking putting the mattress downstairs, too. Walking up and down the stairs is really hard on a pregnant body.
well hun u need to call ur mid wife or doctor with u 70/80% AND 1 1/2 CM U need to call to let them know u might need to be checked since ur so far effaced.. I am suprised they havent hosptialized u yet..good luck and she right they have come far with all these new stuff but still he or she needs 5-6 more weeks u might need some magneeim sulfat which u can only get by IV...
Stay in baby!!! Hopefully it's nothing. I had pink discharge a few times, but it was mostly after sex. Even if the baby does come early, there are so many advances out there now, and so much they can do. But try not to stress and worry, just try to relax, stay calm, and concentrate on staying that way for the next few weeks. The less worried, calm, and more relaxed you are the better for you and baby.
