Yeah we will be entitled to £418 a year child tax credits when baby comes! Our combined wage is £217 over the threshold for working tax credits which has now dropped so we cant get that... yet we would get £7000 wtc a year if i quit completely!! People who need that little bit of help while still working cant get it but ppl who cant be arsed get loads!!

Emma you should be entitled to child tax credits and working tax credits if your partner works more than 24 hours a week once baby is here :) x

It sounds morbid and horrible but get onto JSA (Yes I know it makes no sense being pregnant and on JSA but that's what I had to do to get money) And the job centre only make you stay on JSA until you're within 11 weeks of your due date which then gives you the right to claim for income support. With income support you will also be entitled to a maternity grant for the child. But if you move out you will also be entitled to housing benefit depending on your household income with your partners yearly wage. even though he's working you'd still be entitled to benefits if the annual household income is less than 16k. Also sign up for the council houses. I know they're not wonderful but theyre well heated and always up to date with their property checks by law and the rents miles cheaper. It could be worth looking into. You just need to go down to citizens advice or call the job centre line and get an application going and explain your situation with your mum. Make it clear she's unfit to bring a child up around and that you need the support to move out. Good luck!

Like everyones said check what benefits your entitled to. Fill in some housing forms mark on them that your mum's abusive and threatening to kick you out, this gets you points for being homeless without actually.declaring yourself  homeless. Go to your citizens advice, also a doctors.letter can help of you say your depressed because od your living arrangements. If you do declare.yourself homeless they can keep you there for 3 months. But. You fillin forms for the area you want a.house in. Youmay also be entitlted to help with rent from a private landlord. Of you're unemployed make sure you sign on for jobseekers allowenece. This is a loophole that regardless of how little the job centre gives ou, it automatically qualifys you for full housing benefit :) ps I'm from Scotland so check see what your area is like xx

Im in the uk and i tried to get in a council property at 19, im now 27 and even though i now own my own home with my bf my name is still on the list!!! Dont count on emergency accomidation. Find somewhere private to rent and get help with the rent from the council. That way u are guarenteed somewhere and u can pick where, go to the council first to see ur options, if u need to bend the truth on ur forms with reguards to ur bf income because when i go on mat leave from work we are not entitled to any help whatsoever because my bf works! That means paying our bills and mortgage on one wage when we struggle on two!! Weve got to get used to tightening our belts!
Good luck

Like everyone else said explain your situation to the council and they will get you somewhere affordable to live and quickly, they can offer you emergency accommodation the same day if you need it. Don't say that your mum has thrown you out if she hasn't though as that can cause a lot of problems, but if you explain your situation they will help. You can also try social services or there are lots of other helplines which can help to support you. If you ask around there is a lot of help out there. You can get help for baby things, food and furnishing your home if you ask at the jobcentre. It may be a struggle for the first few months but it will be worth it. Good luck.

I'm so sorry I live with my mom during my first one and she was not that bad but it was still hard. Talk to your doc. Mine asks every time if any abuse is going on and that sounds like it would count to me. Maybe she can help you find away to get section 8, hud or something like that. If you ever wanna talk you can write me. I wish you luck!
