Congrats! Im due early Aug. Good luck. The more info you get now the better!
Thanks ladies. I'm not due until July buy I was very curious about this topic :)
It comes from the hormones crashing. I had it really bad after a miscarriage in Sept. I plan to encapsulate my placenta as well after this baby. That has made a big difference for a lot of women.
Its depression after birth. It can last short or long periods of time and it can be mild or major. I think it has to do with a lot of factors, your hormones changing again, some women get depressed because the baby isn't inside them anymore and they miss it, among other things. Its pretty common. If you have depression in general you are more likely to get postpartum depression. Ask your doctor about it and make sure you keep in touch with a doctor after birth incase you experience it and they can help you through it.
Honestly i get anxiety even at the thought of seperating from my baby so I'm going to encapsulate my placenta and take the pills its supposed to help so you wont get it
Postpartum Depression is very normal. Lots of women experience it after giving birth, even if you are ready for the little bundle of joy ;) some cases are minor and will pass in its own time, but others need extra assistance from your care provider to help get your mind back to a positive outlook. With my first baby I experienced postpartum depression for the first 3mo after our son was born. My husband always checked on me to make sure it didnt esculate and I was prescribed to take more vitamin D. (Every case is different). I'd suggest talking with your OB or dr about what to expect and and what to do if you start to show signs. Good luck!
But how is it caused? I would think you would be happy after the baby comes!
