I never got an early BFP with the First Response test. I have always gotten a positive (When I was actually preggo)  two days before my period with the Dollar store cheapies. It all really depends on when implantation occurred. I would wait till the day AF is due or the day after to test again if I were you, but if you are addicted to POAS like I am, go ahead and buy another test..LOL!!  Baby dust to you!!!

I guess it depends on the person!
B/C I took one very very early and It was a very faint positive!
So faint that I thought my eyes were just playing tricks on me lol
but I also checked 9 days before my period was due! lol
The day my period was due It came up positive no problem!

I think people should learn patience and wait till the day of the missed period thats when most tests say 99% acurate. Before that you're just waisting your money unless you wanna go with FRER. Dollar tests are ******. They like to leave evap lines so if you test with them DO NOT read it after 10 mins.

But hey i say wait, and even if you get a BFN at your missed period date it doesn't mean anything, it took me 8 days after it to get my BFP. But in general your best bet of possibly getting a result is on the day of your missed period.

Hi, i am going thru the same thing as Jennifer19, I took a HPT a few days before my period which came out neg., I had a blood serum test done the day I was suppose to start my period, which was also neg. I recently loss my daughter at 23 weeks and 4 days. She was born the saturday of easter this year and died that easter sunday. this was very painfull to experience since this was my third pregnancy and I have never experienced a loss. In may i had my period from the 8 thru the 16th this was new blood and not old blood from previous pregnancy. I have not had my period yet and today I am almost one week late. My 6 week check up in may came back fine and my doctor said that i had a normal period. Should I retest after the 2 neg. tests given since they were done early?

I took 2 early pregnancy tests one positive one negative, and then a dollar store test, negative.  Which in my heart I knew I was, every typical symptom that I had with previous pregnancies, adn sure enough here I am now at 9 weeks, and for sure pregnant.  Always use first first morning pee, that is why I was getting negative results is my urine was too diluted to register.

The tests do tend to be more accurate after the first day of your missed period. Last time I was pg I had 3 neg tests in the few days before my period was due and then a pos test when it was two days late.

Good luck!

The chances of any pregnancy test working correctly after your missed period 100x better of getting an accurate result rather than before you miss it.  Even though they do advertise it could detect a positive a few days before you miss the chances are 50/50 for accuracey.  Also, you should wait until the morning because the first morning urine is the strongest and have the highest levels of pregnancy hormones.  I got my positive 4 days after I missed my period before... so buy a 2 pack and if you still get a neg in the AM you have one to use if you still do get your period in a few more days (sometimes you ovulated or the the implantation occurs a little later than you think).  Good luck and let us know =)
