Pregnancy and ovulation

I started birth control for the first time (nuvaring) October 13th which is a Sunday. The hormones made my period last till November 3rd.. I took nuvaring out on October 25th because I just didnt like this form of birth control I scheduled an appt with my doctor and she gave me birth control pills am told me to start them Sunday the same day I happened to have ended my period. I took the pill Sunday and Monday. However Monday night I had unprotected sex and he came inside of me. This was the day after my 3 week period ended. My questions are A. Because of my long period when would I have been ovulating? And B. Am I pregnant? C. do i have to be ovulating to get pregnant I have no signs or anything but I do know it's early and because of the new birth control I really don't know when I will start my period or if it will be my actual period or spotting.. Please help

Well in response to the comment above,  until you for sure find out if you are pregnant do not take your BC pills because it can harm the baybee if you are pregnant.  So just in case,  use a condom.  Now,  yes you do have to ovulate to get pregnant. You can be fertile and the sperm can sit in your eggs and start to conceive but it will finalize on your ovulation date. Wait until your period is due,  if it's a week late,  take a test.  Coming on and off of birth control while starting it early can effect your period. So this situation might be a little difficult. Be a use your period could end up being late due to going on and off BC,  but just wait and see. Good luck.

Just a little fyi it takes 30 days for bc pills to actually take effect. The best thing you can do is to just wait and see if you miss your period next mth then take a test. In the mean time if you dont want to get pregnant I would suggest always using condoms along with your bc pills as nothing is 100 % effective in preventing pregnancy.
