Pregnancy in Summer?

Another rediculous question but.... I'm from nebraska. And my older sister has a baby born in August and a baby born in June. And all I remember is her complaining bout how hott she always was. And with it getting late in this year if I concieve in the next few months ill be 7 8 9 months pregnant in the dead of a hot Nebraska summer. So I've been thinking bout not ttc till bout January. I guess my question is... Are their any summer baby mothers out there who didn't find it to be that bad?

I went through two summer pregnancies in FL...my daughter was born in the end of September, so I was heavily pregnant through every single hot month...AND my son was just born last month at 39wks, so I was pregnant through some really hot times.

it wasn't that bad. granted I'm from FL so I'm used to the heat, but when I was pregnant with my daughter in 2008, our car a/c was broken and I had to drive 30 minutes each way to my OB appointments...and our windows were broken in the car so only one opened. THAT was brutal. Especially when I had to make hour-long trips once a week near the end....so just think, it could be that bad! lol

No, seriously, it wasn't that bad either time. Like I said I'm pretty good in the heat but 110* and 90% humidity is HOT no matter whether you're pregnant or not....but because you ARE pregnant you usually take more precautions and IMO it was actually easier to suffer the summers pregnant because people were very courteous and I was always careful to stay hydrated and cool.

So I personally wouldn't let it affect when you TTC, and since I was a july baby as well I'm a bit biased towards summer babies, hehe :).

I am 8 1/2 months preg right now and we have had the hottest summer on recond in years, add the humidity and its been an unbearable summer for anyone. I have had a tough time but if I lived in a house with air conditioning it prolly would have been a lot nicer. I just stayed indoors as much as possible in places that had air and have been wearing loose clothing and drinking lots of cold liquids. I am due September 23 and other than a few really bad, sleepless nights its been fine. I would rather have baby in the summer/fall as apposed to having a baby in the dead of winter when its freezing!

my first 2 babies were spring babies but my last two were both born in August. Yes I was hot but there are so many ways to cool down and enjoy being outside in the summer:~) I also stayed inside when its was crazy hot but if I had to go outside I found an activity with water involved:~)

That's good. Ours blew during a storm and he expected me to sleep without on.(We have window ones not central) thankfully my sister had and old one she said we cld use! Idk what I'm gonna do when we move away from her. We both rely on eachother so much.

If I didn't have an air conditioner, I don't know what I would do!!  We came home from work last Tuesday to find our air conditioner was just blowing air, and not cold air.  The house was hotter than outside (which was 100 + degrees.)  I was only in the house for about 5 minutes and I got really dizzy and saw stars and stuff.  It took me 3 days to recover.  I am so sorry, I really feel for you.

Thank God it was just a blown fuse and could be easily fixed!  And thank God my dad has his air conditioner man license!

Oh hun. I'm just a big girl and ours was out for a day and all my bf heard was me bitching I was too hot. Idk what I'd do pregnant.

I live in Oklahoma and had a baby last August 24th, and it really wasn't that bad.  You discover that you are indoors in air conditioning most of the time.  I am pregnant again this summer and due in October.  With the humidity it has been a little worse this summer, but nothing unbearable.  And, I am pretty picky when it comes to being too hot / too cold, so I think if I can find it manageable, anybody could.  :)

I've been pregnant this entire summer, and we've had temperatures up to 105 with a 70% humidity, and I've felt fine. I've used pants and tank tops or
t-shirts the entre time. Everyone would tell me the same thing, that I would be miserable in the summer, but the heat doesn't bother me. The cold does.

I'm pregnant now only 14 weeks but I'm hot outside we have the same as NE weather and really in the summer in the Midwest you are going to be super hot either way and it's hard to plan and not be pregnant at all in the summer so at some point in your pregnancy you will have to face the heat you just have to drink more water and try and stay cool :)

My sister was always in skirts. I'm a bigger girl and know I'm gonna be hot but the end products worth it. :)

I never really thought bout it like that. And my job will have me outside a lot I'm sure but at the same time I plan to move June of next year. I've always wanted a winter baby bc I'm a winter baby. :) thnx SSBD.

With my son who was born in May, I can honestly say that towards the end I was very uncomfortable regardless of the weather.  I would open the car window with below zero temps, and that was when I wasn't 8 or 9 months along.  Towards the end your going to get hot reguardless of when you are due.  I got pregnant in Jan and am due Oct 6th, I can honestly say that this *****!  Granted our temps are in the 80's and 90's but it's been a high humidity summer and my air in my car is dead.  Although it's been hot, I'm still glad things turned out as they did, it's been hard to deal with but not as bad as I thought it would be.  I've found wearing skirts make a HUGE difference during the summer in staying cool :)

I was pregnant in AZ and then moved at almost 7 months to FL, and had my son in July...it's really not that bad. I'm pregnant now, 24 weeks, with my second and we live in NC. I find the heat worse this time around, but last time I stayed inside more...as long as you're not outside for hours on end, it's not bad at all. I was really  hot all the time when I first got pregnant with my son, and I got pregnant during winter. 40 degrees outside felt like 70 to me, everyone kept yelling at me to wear more layers since I was pregnant, but I had  pants a short sleeved shirt and a light jacket and was fine. I think it really depends on how your body reacts to pregnancy as to what will happen. I'm due Dec 9 and this time I'm looking forward to seeing the difference between a winter and summer baby. BTW no matter when you get pregnant you'll still be going through some warmer months, and there's no guarantee when you will get pregnant. I'd say not to wait...

I live in Idaho and the summers aren't all that unbarable here but there are times it gets really hot and really dry here. Anyway I have two kids one was born July 28th and the other Aug 11 and it wasn't that bad. Infact it was no different to me whether I was pregnant or not. I did spend a lot of time in the water though
