Pregnancy:6-Week Ultrasound

I had an ultrasound a few days ago, which was at the 6-week mark.  My doctor performed it herself, and I consider her to be a very good OB/Gyn.  My little dilemma is that at a glance, it looks as if there is not one sac, but two.  Is it possible she failed to mention the possibility of twins or perhaps missed it altogether?  I doubt that she would, and when I called the office, the gal who answered confirmed that the doctor would've mentioned it if she suspected.  Anyone ever experience a similar issue?

I attached the u/s photo to my profile.  Would like to hear opinion of others.  Does it look like only one, or do I have reason to suspect a second?  (Hope it's easy to view.)

Thank you so much for the feedback.  As for the yolk sac theory, my doc pointed it out next to the baby within the same sac, so I know that's not it.  At any rate, I'm probably obsessing for nothing.  I have an appointment on Monday 10/22, so we'll see if the doc says anything.  I wish I could post the scan of the u/s so that you could check it out.  Everyone I show it to says it look suspicious, none of which are health professionals though.  Anyway, thanks again.  If it turns out to be anything, I'll post it next week.

i think you probably saw the yolk sac, depending how far you are it can almost look like an extra sac. but its best to ask your doc. i think if you were having twins believe me she would have said at time of visit. sometimes with twins us 's are performed every two to three weeks.

Its possible I would call your doctor and ask her to review your ultrasound or ask her if she saw two sacs.
