Provera but no period

I was put on Provera 10mg for 7 days to make me have a period since I was about 2 months late (again). I have taken this amount many times before and usually started bleeding about 2 days after taking the last pill. I am now 7 days past my last pill and I have still not started. I read it could take 14 days, but that has never been the case for me before. I had a possible chemical pregnancy that ended Sept 4th, then I brown spotted for half a day on Oct. 6th (all hpt negative after that) and I started taking the Provera on Nov. 6th when they diagnosed me with PCOS. What could cause the provera not to work? It has before and I can't imagine that I actually could've O'ed for me to get pregnant, they told me I would need medications for that because I have no periods at all without medical help. I have my first RE appt Friday so I will bring it up, but I am very confused. I have sore boobies, which I never have with my periods. I only had that once during my chemical pregnancy. I also havent had many cramps, which are usually very bad for me. Just general discomfort down there, plus being ridiculously tired and having dizzy spells. What is going on???

wait the other 7 days, it will go by SOOOO slow. :( and then call the doctor. I do think its wierd that you havent started though. My appt is in the morning and I've been waiting for that for 2 weeks and it has gone by so slow. I had a miscarriage in 2005 at 7 weeks, and Im just dying to know how far along I am and to see if there is a heart beat. Keep me posted on what happens, if you get AF or what the doctor tells you.

My last HPT was Oct 26th and it was negative. I dont know if Oct 6th was an AF or not, I assumed since all HPT were negative. It was like you said. I had about half a day of only light brown spots that I only noticed when I wiped.

well after I called the nurse on Nov 3rd to check in, I started spotting that afternoon and it was light light brown, only there when I wiped, it was never enough to get on my panties. I thought I was starting my period and felt so relieved that I didnt have to worry about it anymore. Then like 3 hours later, it looked like it was tapering off instead of getting heavier like AF. Then I took the HPT before bed and it came out positive. Have you taken a HPT since Oct 6th? Or are you sure that Oct 6th was AF?

They did a blood test about 3 weeks before the Provera, but I havent had a recent one. IF the brown spotting on Oct 6 was AF then I SHOULD have O'ed around the 25th or so, but I wasnt testing because I didnt think it was possible. My gyno just told me that my bloodwork showed certain stuff, he thinks it is PCOS, and then he gave me like 6 months worth of Provera so I will have periods. I scheduled a RE appointment because my gyno is obsessed with me waiting another 6 months for fertility meds. I haven't tested for pregnancy or ovulation in forever so I have no idea where I could be in a cycle right now

I know, I was the same way. I tried for a year and then when he finally gave me the provera, I was going to start on fertility meds too, I was supposed to call them as soon as I started my period. By the time I never started, I was just so fed up with it all that I didnt even think there was a remote chance I was pregnant. AND when I called to check in with the nurse, and she told me to take that HPT before I went in there, I actually told her...I cant have kids! Im not pregnant! lol. (I guess that was the hormones already talking!) Do it the way I did it. Wait until the med says you should have a period, what is it...2 weeks? And then call and let them know you still havent started. Maybe then instead of telling you to HPT they will send you for a blood test and that will be way more accurate. Did they give you a blood test before they put you on the Provera?

I am sooooooo afraid to take a HPT though! After all the negatives I've dealt with I almost never want to see a hpt ever again. I was trying to have a period so that I could start fertility meds. I couldnt get pregnant when I was charting and trying, it is so hard for me to grasp the idea I could get pregnant when trying to do the opposite. I'm afraid to test.

Oh wow! I was in the same exact situation. Get this, my last period was Aug 20th. I went to the gyno on Oct 10th. They did a blood test for pregnancy and it was negative. They also did a sonogram and diagnosed me with PCOS. They started me on Provera 20 mg for 5 days. I never started. I called 2 weeks later to check in and let them know that I was still waiting and the nurse scheduled me an appt for the next day and told me to take a hpt before going to the appt. I took it and it was postive! I got pregnant while on the Provera and thats why I never started. Im like 6 weeks along they think, I have my second sono tomorrow bc the first one was 2 weeks ago and it was too early to see anything. My boobs have been sooo sore, and they never are with my period. I definately get the dizzy spells. They arent so bad the past few days, but before that it was every time I moved my head, or even shifted my wieght in the chair at work. Maybe your pg! It sounds identical to what happened with me.
