@GeekMom1213 agree with you 100% breastfeeding is hard for the first 1month , you need to stick with it ... thats what our boobies are for!
Thats what I Thought... That hospitals do provide formula just incase bt more mummy's telling me they dont, i will ask my midwife next time i'll see her bt looks like i will have to buy my own just for incase anyway... Thank you all xx
Wow never heard of hospitals that dont provide milk crazy!
Moms who are determined to breastfeed should not buy formula. Period. The first few weeks of breastfeeding can be tough, there's a lot of exhaustion and soreness and sometimes frustration as mom and baby learn how to get a good latch and good positioning. If you have formula in the house, you'll be wayyyy too tempted to say "oh i'll just make a bottle this one time" and then it snowballs, more formula because it's "easier" or whatever and your boobs get engorged which makes it hurt more to nurse so more formula which means your supply drops and so more formula until you have no milk left. It sounds crazy extreme but it happens ALL THE TIME. Don't buy it. You'll have plenty of milk, more than 95% of moms do. Nurse that baby.
Yea at my antenatal class midwife said if you plan to breastfeed dont being milk. But ive brought a cow and gate starter pack to take with ms incase i cant breast feed, dont like it or just change my mind. It was £15 from asda x
Whwn I was at my parenting class the modwife said the hospitals dont provide formula milk and she also said that if u plan to breastfeed then dont need to bring it.
Treliske still provide formula. (in truro) if
That helps x
I have never heard of a breastfeeding mother having to take formula o.o I can't imagine why, they usually wake you up so you can feed the baby if little one gets hungry. At least they did with my sister! I'd ask your doctor next appointment.
Yeah two of my sisters in law have told me you need to take formula even if you plan to breastfeed in case you can't breastfeed. The hospital dont provide milk
