Question.

I'm currently 32 weeks, I quit smoking about 2 months ago. I just had One. I'm not worried about starting again, I just feel so guilty. It wasn't even a full one, but i'm really beating myself up now. Is it going to hurt her?

What is the point of guilting her? You quit which isnamazing. Yes it would have been better if you did it sooner but you did it and that all that matters. Congrats. A slip up is a slip up. Keep strong. You have already deceased your babies risks by quiting.

Don't beat ur self up my Dr told me it's better to smoke then to cause stress on ur baby .. also that the baby doesn't start really forming it's lungs until 7 mos w my first smoked until I was almost 7 mos he came out healthy as could be and 8 lbs 4oz I'm not saying hey smoke away or I did it ur baby will be perfect but honestly I give u props for quiting it's Def hard to do dnt let the others bring u down by calling u names they don't kno what u was going through then just like they dnt kno y u broke n smoked a little bit of one.. I know how hard it can be to quit spec if ur stressed out I quit right away w this baby but things are alot better this time and I knew I could do it ul be fine momma just next time try to find something else to do vs trying to smoke a cig

Don't beat ur self up about it, I smoked my whole pregnancy with my 2 year old who is beyond healthy as can be and I still smoke with baby number 2 now at 34 weeks. Your choice,  u stoppedand u slipped up no reason to beat ur self up hun.

My husband had asthma as a kid and has a concave sternum and is easily susceptible to lung diseases(he gets pneumonia often) because his mother smoked during pregnancy. Just prepared for that. My coworkee had still born twins because neither of their lungs developed due to her smoking.
Just be prepared for your baby to have a poor immune system and other possible defects.

I think people try to do the best they can and I commend the poster for having done such a good job giving up smoking for so long.  Having a mess up can happen and all you have to do is get back to what you were doing when you stopped.  Habits are really hard to break and smoking is one of the hardest.  So, just take each day one at a time and do your best.  good luck hon

It's easier to quit the farther away from it you are. I smoked for years and quit the day I found out I was pregnant. I did not want to feel responsible if my son came out with something wrong. When you smoke there is a greater risk of asthma and being underweight or premature, the list goes on. Not trying to guilt trip you or make you feel bad, There are plenty of mom's who smoke through the whole pregnancy. It's great that you quit! Good for you, you just have to be stronger than the addiction. The longer you go without doing so the more you realize how gross it is and how bad you smell.

I just smoked 3/4 of it and I have no desire to even smoke again. I did quit, I just slipped. A one time thing.

Smoking does not always cause issues with your baby. It can happen which is why you aren't supposed to. It is not a 100% that your baby will have issues. And there are mother's that never smoked that have children with asthma and stuff.

Yeah your baby could have asthma from it or breathing problems since you only stopped smoking 2 months ago idk I wouldn't have done it, its putting your baby at risk,I'm not going to lie to you. Your baby can have problems just because you want to be selfish.my advice is quit for good now.like my Dr said I'm not going to tell you not too but I'll advise that you don't drink or smoke because its going to hurt your baby in some way & then he or she will have a disadvantage in life even before its born & it could have been prevented..he said but I won't tell you not to I have babies at home & one day they will be competing with your babies & all these other mothers babies for jobs. My baby will just have more advantages over the babies that do have breathing problems or defects..& you want the very best for your baby I know you do. So just stop now mama & be strong. Don't fall back into that nasty addiction for your self & for more importantly your angel.
